The minister of tourism, Dunggu Adnan has done it again! Either that or members of our mainstream media are again being creative with their 'quoted statements'. Take a look at the story on page 12 of today's (Wednesday July 4, 2007) NST which is titled "Selfish tour operators warned". The minister was bellyaching about tour operators ignoring his constituency, Putrajaya. Apparently, tour operators were not bringing tourists to visit the almost decaying multi-billion Ringgit expression of one man and a whole generation's fantasies of megalomania. (Can you actually blame them?) Anyway back to today's Dunggu-ism...
In the NST story the minister is quoted as saying, "We are giving them a chance to improve now. Soon, we have to be nasty to them in stopping all their nonsense including overcharging and cheating. We will revoke their licence if we have to."
Doesn't that mean that these tour operators are currently overcharging and cheating tourists and that if they organise some tours to Putrajaya or wherever Dunggu wants they can continue to overcharge and cheat?
Is he really stupid or does he think we are?
