And so here we go again!

Abdullah Badawi (I really don't want to call him Pak Lah anymore) has announced the dissolution of Parliament and the elections must be held within 60 days of that action. And once again Malaysians are given the chance to have their say in the way they want their country to be run and by whom. Call me a cynic or whatever other name you want la but I am not really holding my breath for any earth shattering results that will make life in Bolehland any different from the way it's been the last 3 decades. Why you ask? Maybe you've been living in Lalaland or somewhere as far away but if you need to ask that question you really need to stay where you are. In Denial. Why? Just take a look around. Take a look at what's been happening the last few weeks leading up to this announcement of the dissolution of Parliament.

We Malaysians, or at least the way the ruling YB's treat us, seem to be like a bunch of spoilt, bratty children. We whine and cry and stamp our feet. Then like bad parents the YB's throw us a few candies and we stop whining and become good, obedient children for a while. Meaning we keep our mouths shut and out of the parent's way as they go about doing whatever they want. We don't care what. Got sweet already enough la.

So elections are coming. So the YB's travel the country distributing their candy pacifiers and come election day they will get their two thirds majority and then they will screw things around for another 5 years and then we start whining again and then they throw us some candy and then...........

And the thing is they do it in such a blatantly middle finger-in-your-face way. As if to say Nah! Niamah!!! Take this and keep quiet la, dei! Farmers who've waited decades for land suddenly get what they have legally applied for from the same fuckers who didn't want to hear or process those same applications. Until the farmers votes were needed. Schools that needed funds for maintenance or development and never got them suddenly get some grant or other. Which I guess will have to last them at least 5 years because they ain't going to get shit else until the next general elections roll around.

We know what we want for our country. We know the YB's who've been screwing us time and again. We know that we have the power for change in our hands. We know we must take an active stance and participate in how our country is managed and how to maintain a future for our children and grandchildren. But will we do anything about it? Somehow I doubt it. Already some of my friends who had been whining and griping are saying, "Hiyah! Never mind la. Better the devil we know than the devil we don't la. Just keep quiet and try and make some money lor."

And I am sure that you've read the results of the latest "survey" that claims that the majority of Malaysians (all 3 major races of course!) are against demonstrations. Oh really? That's the YB's telling us in our faces that we are dumb schmucks who only can manage a squeak every 5 years or so and love being screwed. And we all go, "Really ah? Ya la demonstrations affect business la. Make bad traffic jam la. We sokong you, YB!"

And then before you know it the YB's will win their two thirds majority and then we will start griping again.

But of course to celebrate "the people's victory" there will be some good fireworks and festival events with lots of loud beating drums and candy. You know....Just to show us and tourists that Hey! Malaysia is just doing fine man. Look...everybody is so happy.

LOVE MALAYSIA.
VOTE WISELY.
TAKE CHARGE OF YOURS AND YOUR CHILDREN'S FUTURE.

I know I am going to.

NIAMAH!!!

He will allow TWO weeks ,not the full 59 days, for the campaign and hope that he will get in without anybody noticing! If people still give BN the 2/3rd majority, then it is time to migrate for those who can. Only the Malays can deny him that majority and much as you might not like it, he will get his majority because Malays will vote to keep the Never Ending Policy in place.

I think the make-more-babies policy should also be applied to all other races too. That's how the country can be balanced, by having equal numbers of voters from each ethnic group. Otherwise, the country will soon realize what happened in the movie "Idiocracy" Since it's all about democracy, and people have to get 2/3 of the votes, then start making that happen. It will be hard, people will live in a lesser prosperous life for a couple of decades, but after that, things will probably change. Migrating just sounds so much like giving up hope. It's our country, we're born here, why should we leave? We make it better if it's not good enough!

Pat, first we have the PM to equate us saying that Malaysians are "yee sang"... I absolutely do not want to be considered as the ingredients in one of my favourite dish... I still prefer eating them... to think of myself as a "yee sang" send shivers down my spine...

...and then we have this Tan Sri who is telling the Chinese voters that they should jolly well vote for Barisan Nasional if they want to “make an easy living”, failing which???? do I sense some 'flying daggers' and should now return to my position only as a 'crouching tiger'? I'm not so sure... I'm a Malaysian after all...

Beh Tahan really... but you are right, as long as there is the NEP, BN will be in power. Sad, but true.

Will our PM later tell us Media miss quote him on tuesday night when he deny he will dissolve parliament yesterday?

I am annoyed because from the day I remember DR M being PM...he always saying he is waiting for idea and the sign to dissolve it. At least not trying to LIE!!!!

I wonder what make me change my mind not to vote "Wisely" this time since we have so many Liar in cabinet.

We might not be able to change the political scene but we must show them we are annoyed....they like to claim there's many MP's doing last minute visit to the people especially opposition but this time I see the trend is reverse and this is the first time as far as I remember so many candies being given at 11th Hour.

Boleh land Management seem like breaking new Malaysia book of record this time!!

Niamah ka hai, CNY also cannot celebrate in peace!! Celaka Badawi.

Lets vote out these bunch of BN goons for good.

It's true what you're saying. As a malay, I feel sad that some of my people do not get sick of the candies being distributed every 5 years when we have rights to it. They need to be informed!

It is sad. It is depressing. But I'm not going to take it lying down.

In the Qur'an it says that all people were created equal. So why is there a need for special treatment here? I guess its the Hadhari way.

A translated verse in the Qur'an:
"Do not oppress and Be not oppressed."

Are we being oppressed? Yes. Is it a muslims duty to stand up against it? Yes.

God help Malaysia! BN wins 2/3, we're screwed. BN loses 2/3, we're also screwed.

so what is the solution? 2/3 or no 2/3 we are screwed, right? the opposition is also hopeless!!!

after 8 years, i finally realised I did the right thing. I migrated. i couldnt take no more of the bullshit. no more. but i am still going to vote. and like last time i will vote for the opposition.

i like the way you write. i've been reading blogs about this politic things. there are so many different opinions, be it from the old & young wannabes. i did study subjects on Politics in college. they say, it is the people who make politics dirty.

Frankly spkg, i m for the present government. what ever it is, we practise democracy ma.... majority win, by the people and for the people. what they give us, be it close to election time or what, has been given to us already. the former PM had 2 decades to show his 'taring' so, why compare the present one with the most senior one. be realistic la, people. so, vote wisely & be GOOD citizens, so, easy for 'Pa & Ma' to jaga us. BERSIH, CEKAP, AMANAH, MESRA, CEPAT, BETUL, etc-etc. Opposition is hopeless, just like to open fire & leave it for the gajah to put out. what if the gajah never turns up?? there will be a bush fire to destroy the whole land, including the guy who started the fire...hhahaha.... better stop here.

We just hope that the wakil rakyat nominated be changed & not the government cos we may not be able to changes the political scenes. so, just hope for a good representative who can bring changes for us or a particular 'kawasan'. That is the most important thing to point out. & those who cakap banyak but not a registered voter, think about it. pls do not create scenes only, i have young children who will need peacfull Malaysia as a country for them to cari makan. i may not be a professional but i still have a voice & vote in this democratic country.

How do you know Oppostion is hopeless? Reading only the mainstream paper? Do you know that the mainstream media is trying to portray the Opposition in the worst possible light?
Do you not think that there will also be squabbling and back-stabbing in UMNO/MCA/MIC/Gerakan?
Not reported in the media does not mean that there is none.

If really Opposition is hopeless, who made them hopeless and powerless? It is us, the voters.
By not giving them a chance, they will remain hopeless.

And as Patrick said, "We will be screwed again for the next 5 years"

C'mon , let's look at the bigger picture

candy not free, you know?

Anonymous said...

Dear Patrick,
I am a Malaysian living in HK and we are not allowed to vote because we are not in the country. Anyways was in the Malaysian consulate for some document work. The people there asked me if I wanted to buy kuih on the way out. They were selling kuih at the consulate. I rest my case and I am happy to be out of the country

Hi wizzerd,i wrote 11.02am & 11.12am (anon) . as i've said in 11.12am, change the representative if you think the present rep. is not doing a good job.
For anon 2.13, you are right. candy not free. if you enjoy the candy the word 'suffer doesn't arise.
well, how long will it take for a new gov't to stand up stable if the present one is toppled??? who's going to suffer again, while 'waiting'???
So, again, VOTE WISELY.

I just want the government to do something about the rampant crime that is eating up Malaysia. I just witnessed a robbery myself a few weeks ago. Guess what? The robbers were very selamba after robbing their victim, not scared of police anymore!!! I worry for my family!!! Why are idiots allowed to staff the PDRM??

Vote for Opposition! Deny 2/3 Majority!!! No Pacifier or candy sweet can please the Chinese community now!!

If you want change, then vote for the opposition to form a new government. But this ain't gonna happen, no way the opposition can win a simple majority in parliament.

If you deny 2/3 to BN, then you can be sure the Chinese/Indian communities around the country will get punished for the next 4/5 years. Funding to Chinese schools will be stopped, Chinese farmers will not get license renewal, Non-Malay agendas will be delayed/stopped, etc.

Oh wait, non-Malay agendas are already being ignored when BN has 2/3 majority. Nevermind...

How true!
I think that this is the best way short of a revolution!
I'm sure that our Chinese and Indian compatriots are no less fuckers than the Malays.
On a one person one vote basis, once we have the edge in terms of population, we will win.
Also, with our better culture and brains, we can go very far!

It's high time BN be given a wake up call, we have a saying "Buddha also have fire" and it's time to unleash these fire's via this round of elections. Somehow all the YB's think we are all "kampung folks" or "YES" people to everything they do but tolerance has a limit and the limit has just been breached, time to set things right now.

I don't want our kids to go thru the same NIAMAH like us now, promises after promises......NIAMAH!
VOTE WISELY for our childrens sake...
