Eh? Where's the other fler?

I have spent the past hour trying to think about how to write what is in my head to share with you. But a hangover isn't the best thing to have while attempting something like that. So I am not going to try and be clever or funny or what la. But share my thoughts with you.

I want to know what kind of support the other fler is getting in all this la. There was another fler also arrested and charged with sedition, right? Or have we forgotten? Prominent lawyer, Syed Akhbar was charged for a comment he wrote in response to RPK's article in Malaysia Today, "Malaysia's organised crime syndicate: All roads lead to Putrajaya".

So another Malaysian exercised his right to freedom of speech. He allegedly called Arabs 'sinners' and also made some comments about Arabs and Islam and so he got charged with being seditious. Sedition seems to be the flavour of the month in Bolehland since May 13 was taken off the menu.

And so where is the support for Syed? Where's the outrage? Where's all the support from bloggers who support freedom of speech? Where's the candlelight vigil? Got march somewhere or not? Please ah......I am not Syed's friend. I just needed to know la if got or not. Can?

And then...

I read today on Rockybru that 'they' might want to charge Karpal Singh with sedition. The fler apparently, questioned...

the Kelantan Prince over his titah on Malay supremacy
the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah, over the transfer of the Perak Islamic Religious Affairs Department (Jaip) director, and
the Yang diPertuan Agong, over his opening address of the 12th Parliament

So, that constitudes sedition in Bolehland. Very soon we might be seditious if you question the mamak's way of pulling your teh tarik. Why not? Calling him mamak might incite racial tension. Questioning his skill as a tea maker is definitely a threat to national security.

Okay cannot already la. This hangover is getting too much la. And also this Internet cafe on Patong Beach, Phuket is more expensive than I thought for an island in Thailand. I think I will go lie down in my room now.

You are absolutely right...this is like the SEDITION WEEK of Malaysia. It somehow amazes me that we take every critisism as a threat. I wonder whether Raja Petra was wrong to write seeking justice for Altantuya.Have we sunk so LOW that all we do is remain silent and ignore injustice happening in front of our eyes? It seems like our political framework will only allow cowards and 'pembodek' to the ones in power to live peacefully. This will never change if there are no change in mentality to truly accept democracy and see politics as a service and that only. I feel sad to say that our country has lost everything it ever stood for because of a few people.

Happy hols but watch out for that Mekong whisky all dolled up in a Chivas or J.Walker bottle.

They say coconut water helps but I say a switch to a double Bloody Mary the morning after, sooths better.

You are quite right - the case of Syed Akhbar has much intrigues if not more interesting and I'm just as dissapointed for the lack of public focus.

Syed Akhbar's case is a potential powder keg to send those Jakim fella's cowering.

Best regards.

Read the following Bernama report and see for yourselves if the AG should be charged with sedition.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 (Bernama) — Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail today stressed that there was no tussle between the Regent of Terengganu and the Regency Advisory Council with the state government pertaining to the appointment of the Menteri Besar of the state.

He said this was because the process of appointing the Menteri Besar for the state was spelled out under Article 14 (2) of the state constitution.

“As such, the candidate appointed as the Menteri Besar is not the nominee of the Regent or the Regency Advisory Council but a person who is appointed according to the laws of the state,” he said in a statement here.

He said the person must be a member of the state legislative assembly who in the opinion of the Regent and Regency Advisory Council commanded majority support in the assembly.

He said the Yang di-Pertuan Agong was fully aware of the provision and that His Majesty cannot interfere in the appointing of the Menteri Besar.

“This is because under Article 34(1) of the Federal Constitution, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong cannot function as a ruler of a state except as the head of the Islamic religion.

“In connection with this, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong does not have his own candidate for the post (Menteri Besar of Terengganu),” stressed Abdul Gani.

He said that His Majesty was aware of the fact that appointing of the Menteri Besar lied fully with the Regent and the Regency Advisory Council, and that His Majesty had no role whatsoever under the law concerning it.

Gani’s explanation comes in the wake of speculation about the position.

Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh whose appointment as the Menteri Besar of Terengganu has been delayed since the 12th general election ended on March 8.

Yes, why are there so scant mention of Syed Akhbar? Is he out on bail or has he been put into the slammer, too?

Malaysia now has a bad case of 'slanderjitis'.

Bolehland has comiitted many comedy of errors. If you start a new season of Jazz Cafe, I am sure you will have alot of new stand-up materials that would put Jay Leno to shame. Your Teh Tarik case is a good one for your Jazz Cafe. Mamak mengamuk shuld be interesting.

Maybe your friend Afdlin Shauki can also relaunch his Syiok Sendiri stand-up comedy routine on TV?

Now that the BN bandwagon has gone blogging big time (post-Zam era), what would constitute seditious?

I would consider calls for banning pig-farming seditious because I do not want to compromize on my pork chop, now that it is my alternative rice eating due to the rise in the price of rice.

By the way, did you participate in the "We-Are-The-Bangsa-Malaysia" music video for the Pete Teo's song, as directed by Yasmin Yusuf?

Brother...single malts will never give you a ice cube only though. This advice is given free.

It is hunting season now Patrick...they do not want to lose the momentum and also to distract from the mess happening in UMNO, now that Mentor has told them to take Anwar seriously....see how they change....two months ago they say Anwar is irrelevant. Pordah.

UMNO people are trying to divert their attention to Kapal rather than their own titanic ship.Infact, they are trying to create a crisis rather than putting their house in order.Kapal was merely defending the MB's rights of his power to fire or hire, right? These narrow-minded freaks are living in a coconut shell and no wonder the country is going backward rather than propelling forward.I hope that the issue would not spread like wild fire or else UMNO would take this oppotunity to send Kapal behind bars as the police is 100 per cent behind UMNO.

NO, I didn't participate in the Pete Teo video. I was in Singapore at the time. Wish I could have though.

Zorro, thanks for the advice. We drank only single malt bought at the ICCT duty free. MacCallan's 18 yr old, Glenfiddich, Glenlivet. Still got hangover:-) Hunting season it may be. But the sights on their guns need major adjustments if they are to hit anything other than their feet. But that would require a closed tender with high commissions to choose the gun sight adjuster. No? LOL

Dear Patrick

Sorry to post this which is irrelevant to this blog subject. You can erase it once you have raed it.

But, I need some support here.

It’s regarding the India Ink.

The MP’s are not asking the obvious question in Parliament, i.e.

(1) did the EC & its famous Chief actually place an order with the Indian Govt for 48,000 bottles at RM2.4 million or for any other qty of Ink from any other country?

(2) Was the Ink delivered before 8th March to M’sia or was there a delay/screw up?

(3) If the EC Chief answers that the Ink was delivered on time, can we get the Auditor General to issue a certificate of verification & confirmation.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the red-herring about ink smugglers was hatched to cover up either an administrative screw-up or right from day 1, they have been lying to the Public.

I sometimes think even our new MP’s have the IQ of a mosquito in that they seem incapable of making a concerted effort to get to the bottom of matter.

Could you please run a new blog on this issue. Please, Please?

Thank you.

I hope you like our Thai hospitality. Hak Patong is actually too commercialised and with the one way , lagi keroncong.

Visit the beaches at Surin or Kamala , less people and cheaper. And also less farang.

Have a nice visit.

"Malaysia Boleh " as in Bolehland is an understatement .....
it should read :-
" Malaysia Apa Apa pun BOLEH!!!"

With the BN ; nothing surprises us any more in this country ...... all the greed , arrogance , bigotry ,murders, stupidity , justice fixing etc , etc .

Just can't wait for the last episode of their soap operas 5 yrs from now.

It is a pity you did not appear on the Pete Teo's video. Maybe you could initiate anotehr video project to galvanize all artists who stand for 'Bangsa Malaysia'? There could be a risk that the local TV stations may 'gam' you.
Not to worry, you can move on to be a 'foreign talent' in MediaCorp in Singapore.

God bless!

Wat the fuck patrick, the BN has at last found a tool to silence Malaysians, the Sedition Act. Yes its better than mamak teh tarik and cam. Yes, its a new formula in bolehland, u can spent 3 years at the pleasure of the agong, if found to be guilty. U can't talk bad about the BN government when it has lost its 2/3 majority. That's incitement. Seximent and rubberment its OK.

pat, this is THE way to avoid the current hicup in BN. create diversion! and your own problem will be forgotten! Malaysia memang boleh!! but this time it will backfire. With RPK in lock-up also susah outside also susah to the power that be. Very soon PR is bound to make the move if things keep surprising the Raayat every now and then. So let's all keep our fingers crossed.
