Above or below the law?

Home Minister, Syed Hamid says that Anwar Ibrahim is not above the law and cannot be treated as special and be exempted from it. Yes, of course he is not. Every Malaysian knows that there are only two groups of Malaysians who ARE above the law.

The first group are of course the YB's of the ruling coalition. (Notice that I didn't say which coalition. Just that they should be the ruling one.) They are definitely exempted from that rule. Anyway, whenever there is a law they need to rise above they simply change it.

The second group is more interesting. They are definitely above the law and exempted from it. Who are they? Well, technically they can be any Malaysian or illegal immigrant who owns or is possession of a motorcycle of less than 200cc engine capacity and a modified LOUD exhaust pipe. What? Don't believe ah? Take a look around. Those flers on those little motor bikes ARE above the law.

They run traffic lights at will. They weave in and out of traffic scratching cars and breaking off side mirrors at will and with impunity. They take illegal U-turns right under the noses of traffic policemen. They perform bike stunts on major highways without an entertainment permit or police permit. Yes Mat Rempit is definitely above the law. Well, unless they are doing something completely legal like going the proper speed limit or riding in the motorcycle lane and minding their own business. Then you can see them being hauled up at police road blocks, JPJ barriers or Immigration operasi's. Actually, that proves something about living in Malaysia doesn't it?

You want to get away with things do them BIG. Like build a mansion. Use C4 to blow somebody up. Not any explosives mind you. Must be C4 or your ass gets hauled to jail. CBT? Got to be in the billions. Otherwise you are not above the law man!

Anyway, now that you know. Next time you pass or most likely is passed by a Mat Rempit remember to tabik (salute) ya? Thank you.

Niamah!!!

now that the ACA is gradually being given more power (if not gradual tongues will start to wag about putting on a nice show..etc etc) and they're making their new stance known with a loud bang..let's hope this will continue. the society and the bloggers esp, should play their part to whip both the government and the ACA into being more vigilant.

Hey Patrick you just hit the bull's eye on the second "privileged" group...
1. they don't know what is the purpose of traffic lights..maybe color blind..(sorry if i've offended anyone but the real fact is they who beat the traffic light should be ashamed of themselves for misusing their perfect colored vision)

2. they always think that their head is harder than a coconut...maybe it's a real coconut ..only filled with "jus Kepala"

3. they do death-defying u-turn to avoid the authorities...ho liao ar..maybe they should go for audition in some Hollywood or Bollywood movies to earn more

4. they seem to be invisible to the authorities, they could sitting by the roadside merely 50 metres away from the road block, yet no one would disturb them..helloo!...they don even need a night vision to see where they are..

5. Last but not least, i really pity those motorcyclist that brave the road blocks only to be stopped by them and to go through all troubles even though they come clean...

SIgh....What Say U?

other than having lots of money to be above the law, another way is to sneak ur way through to the DPM office...be the sex weapon and let him put u under his kertiak and u r safe...well....maybe for a while...

sometimes i really wonder if justice can be done though heaven shall fall? seems like the only way to do justice once again is to throw the whole bunch of sleepyhead and friends into DBKL rubbish truck and start all over again...

God blessed Malaysia!

You are absolutely right.
If you want to do it, dont 'just do it', do it big.

If you owe the banks, make sure your owe them big like hundreds of millions or if you can, billions. The banks will kow tow to you.

If you owe them just hundreds of thousand RM, be prepared to drop your pants and bend down to be sod...

“I even swore in God’s name … Wallahi Wabillahi Watallahi … that I do not know this Altantuya woman at all. There is no greater oath." Did he swear he didn't kill her or know about her murder? If you dare to kill, what's a little swearing in Allah's name just to save your backside in this life? There might not be another life you see. May Altantuya get JUSTICE AND SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Snatch thieves are also above the law. Recently, near my area, we caught a snatch thief and beat him up and call the police. When one of us check the snatch thief's IC, the address reads "Barrack Polis" which means he is probably a policeman's son. The police took him away. A few days later, he's in business again!

i thought there is one more group called "blue" blood. They are some sort of vvvip. they dont follow law, they get police escort, run all the lights and there is no speed limit...Bloody police will make all kinds of loud noise to chase you to the side if you ever get in their way.

Who said all man are born equal..

Ya la Patrick! There has been cases where one/two person from that group dies from heart attack...

There are many many cases from group 2 where its members died from accident...

So, they are still under god's law...

All of us are...

There is still one group which is above the law i.e. the group which don't have to pay income tax despite earning lots & lots of money, by 'legal' means and also earning lots of income without having to work for it.

You said: "...technically they can be any Malaysian or illegal immigrant who owns or is possession of a motorcycle of less than 200cc engine capacity"... "Those flers on those little motor bikes ARE above the law"...

Mr. Teoh, the way you write it makes it appear as if ALL 'flers' on bikes below 200cc are law-breaking, suicidal, nuisance of idiots.

You could have simply mentioned in your usual sarcastic way: ..."Mat Rempits seem to be above the law in Malaysia".... or "Mat Rempits think they are above the law"... or something along that line but noooo, you had to start by saying "technically...." blablabla...

Malaysians would know who they are la!

By the way, Mat Rempits include some people riding above-200cc machines too, ok? (I said SOME, not ALL big(ger) bike riders).

Maybe you don't go out much to the trunk roads and highways on weekends (not your fault so nothing wrong with that) but there, you can see many Mat Rempit antics where it doesn't matter if the machines involved are 110cc kapchais, 125cc scooters or a 600-1,300cc sportsbikes.

I'm not taking sides here but for the sake of argument, kapchai riders take up less space on our roads, their machines consume less fuel and save time, among many other plus points.

I have a 125cc scooter, a car and a 1,100cc bike. I have been riding for 26 years (since I was 9) and driving for 20 years in several countries. I have never been in any road accident (while I'm behind the wheel or riding), thank you Lord.

I ride and drive defensively. Yes, I admit that occasionally, I do 'attack' corners and try to enjoy high speeds, but only in a few selected places in this country, where I make sure there's no other road users I will put in danger or simply annoy with my 'enjoyment'.

Examples include the Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highlands-Gua Musang highway (on week days when it is quiet);

Bukit Tinggi road (when it's quiet. I prefer week days); and many more places.

I don't do stupid things in town/urban roads. Many other small-bike riders also don't do stupid Mat Rempit stuff.

We simply want to commute (to work, shopping, visit people, go about our business, etc) and at the end of the day, fuck off and go home in one piece.

We get pissed off with Mat Rempits too.

I, together with other below 200-cc bike owners, pay tax too.

Don't generalise, Mr. Teoh.

Cheers.

AZLAN.
