And you thought THAT was funny!

Malaysian Police state-of-alert stance while enforcing typical Malaysian 'rubber' time.

And so the police have arrested Anwar Ibrahim. Again. According to Channel News Asia he was dragged into a police vehicle by heavily armed and special forces police personnel wearing ski masks. (Picture that. Who are the 'bad guys'?) Almost like a replay of the first time, right? Except this time the police flers did not do their thing by storming Anwar's house. Eh, they might not be very smart but at least they are not repetitive.

Anyway, so he's arrested again but that wasn't what made me want to write this post. What caught my eye were the reports in The Star today. I've cut and pasted the statements here. You read it and let me know what you think. Personally, I think it is very, very funny while at the same time really scary that things like this could have been said by senior people in authority and reported in the media.

"He was arrested as we had reason to believe he was not going to show up"....this was uttered by no less than CID director Commissioner Datuk Mohd Bakri Zinin!!!

Reason to believe that he was not going to show up!!!??? He also said...."However, we were informed that after he left the ACA headquarters in Putrajaya, he had changed his route and was heading back to his house in (Bukit) Segambut."

Wait, there is more. In another interview another government big-shot, Deputy Home Minister Datuk Wan Farid Wan Salleh said, ".........he was on his way home. He couldn’t possibly have made it on time." Huh???

Asked why the police had not waited until 2pm before making the arrest, Wan Farid said: “What's the difference between 20 or 50 minutes?”

There you go, folks! Bolehland logic at its best.

Sure, Anwar had not shown up at the last request for an interview at Poice HQ but then the Police gave him another deadline, right? So? And when he was arrested he hadn't missed his deadline yet, right? So? But..........

"......we had reason to believe he was not going to show up"

"......What's the difference between 20 or 50 minutes?”

Patrick old chap, couldn't agree with you more. This is precisely the kind of standard of people we have governing the country. You'd think this would be the biggest joke in the whole universe if not for it's seriousness. Look, it's beyond words that can describe my frustation and anger. I'm just absolutely exasperated! Malaysian of all races and faiths should unite and fight this on-going corrupt political game being instigated by this ruling coalition. Give Malaysia a fair and clean government by voting them out comes the next election. We shall not FORGET!

Whether we support Anwar or not...
some logics here...

10 cars of cops, a platoon with Ski mask & balaclav to arrest a 60 yr old man with a bad back with only lawyers & driver... who was heading home for lunch break??
You would think they found Osama in Segambut!!

Furthermore... he had just spent hours at ACA... excused himself from there politely so he can make it on time for 2pm for another long session with CID.
Hello! He took a detour home lah... with more than 1 hr to spare... somemore his lawyer had a call with the cops to reconfirm they were going to be on time!!

was he speeding towards the highways to Thailand or Singapore??
Was he going to Turkey embassy again??
was he heading to airport or port klang to disappear??

Why so kancheong & so brutal??

This is a dark day for democracy, rule of law....
We are governed by brainless bullies and "protected" by a scary bunch of muscle headed cops.

it's scary to be a Malaysian....

Dear Police officers,

Doesn't it occur to you that he might want to go home for his zohor prayers? Or perhaps engage in this strangely odd human activity called 'makan tengahari'? So what if he's a bit late? Like you said '20 minutes or 50 minutes' wouldnt make any difference...

And hell yeah, nabbing the guy at his house, yeppp, the very place you go look for a guy who wants to run away from the authorities... duhhh!

Was he really dragged? I read somewhere that he wasn't handcuffed. And he was all smiley and waving at his supporters outside of HKL just now, so I think they're cautious enough to not want to give his supporters more reasons to rise up (not that they need to at all). It's really regrettable the way the police took him in, and all the statements by the big boys are just making it worse. Now whether or not they really have real evidence of the sodomy allegation, they're vindicating him (yet again) in the court of public opinion.

That would probably mean a high percentage of the rakyat being eligible for imprisonment! Recall the recent case involving a certain minister caught on video in a hotel? Is he gonna get charged soon too? Oh wait.... he's not running to be the next PM. So, nevermind la

this is quite fresh from the oven.

"PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was released on police bail Thursday morning after having his statement recorded the night before, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said.

He was safely back at his home in Bukit Segambut in Kuala Lumpur by 10.05am, and is expected to hold a press conference at 2pm.

"He was arrested yesterday (Wednesday) as he was a suspect, and his arrest was made in accordance with the law," Ismail said.

"Police followed every procedure and had even informed him and his lawyers that the warrant for his arrest had been obtained.

"He was treated fairly and according to due process of the law, which included allowing his wife (Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail) to visit him at about midnight," he added.

Ismail said police would continue with their investigations.

He also appealed to the public not to speculate and to allow the police to investigate this case as they would any other case.

At a press conference at about 10am, Anwar's lawyers R. Sivarasa and Sankara Nair said that no charges had been levied on the former deputy prime minister at this time.

He will have to report to the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters on Aug 18 however."

Please don't complain.

They are working so hard with the fear that one of the citi"sen" named En. Anwar who likes to go around liwating other citi"sen" in the KL city that they need to block all the roads.

All policemen were diverted to KL City to block this one man from committing this 'liwat' business that the other millions citi"sen's business are now irrelevant.

Please forgive them as all of them in power were raised without consuming pork. They pray 5 times a day and they were taught that when somebody accuse another of liwating, that's the end of the world. They were also taught to use their 'buntut' instead of their brain to think.

Please don't complain anymore as they are already panic now, not knowing what else to do.

"What's the difference between 20 or 50 minutes?" seems quite similar to "What's a difference between assasination, murder and kill?"

Murder is the deliberate and unlawful killing of a person. If the person killed, happens to be an important political figure, the word used is assassination. If a common person , animal, or other living thing is caused to die, the word used is 'killed'

Based on the above, I am sure there is definitely a difference between 20 or 50 minutes. Just one simple example, a man spent 20 minutes in lovemaking and a man spending 50 minutes in doing the same to a female partner will have different reaction and enjoyment.

If our simple-minded Deputy Home Minister Datuk Wan Farid Wan Salleh is not sure of the difference, he can take my advice by trying out a love-making exercise with his spouse or lover for 20 or 50 minutes and see what his partner will react to that timing. Kekeke!!
