GOOOOOOOOD MORNING, MALAYSIA!!!

Move over, Harith, Instant Cafe, Jit...I'm more funny la.

(I think this comment, received from an anonymous comment-er deserves to be posted here...)

Anonymous 12:43 p.m. said...

WHO? or u wanna say it's YOU? i think because of people keep on sending comments to ur blog, it make feel that u good enuff. poor patrict aiyoh! "

Well, I guess some people will get it and some people won't. That's life. In Bolehland.

I started the last blog post by saying that it was a sad weekend for Malaysians but I think I should follow the lead set by my elected leaders in "retracting" that statement. It is actually not so sad a weekend but is instead turning out to be a totally hilarious one. I have said it before and it is coming true again. Here in Bolehland it is tough to write comedy because real life is sooooo much funnier. Since the arrests of RPK, Teresa Kok and journalist, Tan Hoon Cheng (who's been subsequently released) ministers, deputy ministers and other assorted Y.B's have come out with so much comedy that will last for years of endless guffaws. These are so well written and performed that they are funny just off the written page. See for yourself......

Syed Hamid said the police thought it was best to get first-hand information from Tan and thus took her in under the ISA and released her a day later after they got the necessary information and found no reason to hold her.

“I don’t think we are being unfair or that we mistreated her in any way. We acted professionally and after a day released her,” he said, when asked if Tan had posed a security threat in any way.

........Syed Hamid Albar as quoted in The Star here.

Okay, you better be seated for this next one. Ready? Here it comes......

Asked why the police did not just ask Tan to come in for questioning instead of arresting her, Syed Hamid said it was always difficult when it came to the police when dealing with reporters...

..............Syed Hamid Albar as quoted in The Star here.

Then he said...

“All of us are subject to the law. When the police feel it is best to bring the person in under ISA, they do so. I think the most important thing is not to exercise unfairness. When they got what they wanted and found they had no reason to hold her and that she’s not a security threat and not disturbing public order, they released her immediately......"

But...but...but I thought you said her life was in danger and that's why the police arrested her. To protect her. Right? Then she suddenly returned to being a security threat ah? So after 16 hours she is no more threat ah? Wah! Damn terror man! If we got some sort of system going on in there with the mata-mata flers then I say we chuck all the suspected Ah Longs, rapists, Mat Rempits into police ISA lock-up and release them after 16 hours. Then they all no more threats to society. Everybody happy. Kao tim! Right? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.......

I'll admit that this next bit is not really Hahahaha-funny la but it is still tragically laughable....

On why Ahmad (Ismail) was not detained for making racist comments, he explained that Umno had already punished him by suspending him for three years and stripping hm from the party post while the police was also still investigating a sedition report against him...

So, the fler who made the racist comments is slapped on the wrist, ok pending some more investigations of course, while the reporter who just documented what was said is arrested under the ISA. For her own protection of course.

Read this next bit and see what you are thinking...

When asked why action was not taken against other politicians like Datuk Seri Khir Toyo for racist remarks made, he said people should stop looking at things from an ethnic angle and start thinking as Malaysians.

You think he was asking Khir Toyo to stop or asking who?

Okay, here's an example of the Malaysian Way...

Syed Hamid said the police thought it was best to get first hand information from Tan and thus took her in under the ISA and released her a day later after they got the necessary information...

So now whenever the police want first-hand information they will invoke the ISA issit? But only for a day la. Damn funny la this. Those Communist flers, dead or alive, for whom the ISA was originally intended must be laughing in their graves or in their durian orchards.

....okay excuse me while I go dry my eyes first ah? Laugh until tears come out leh. And all the above was just from a couple of pages of The Star's online paper you know. What other great comedy lies waiting in The Sun, Sin Chew and all the other mainstream media?

Meanwhile, hold your breath for the next instalment of this comedy series. The United States has summoned Malaysia's envoy in Washington to protest against its crackdown on dissent at a time when the opposition is attempting to take over power in Kuala Lumpur. Remember last time Rais Yatim already scolded those flers for interfering in our "domestic affairs". Let's wait and see what Rais says this time or maybe Syed also. Sure damn funny one.

Niamah!!!

Dear Patrick,

Anonymous said...

Ha! Padan muka to the Polis & Gomen of Malaysia for being so bodoh. Think before you act and not think after you act (in the case of our beloved home minister in trying hard to find valid excuses for the arrests).

Looking at the brighter sight, with such big "hoo haa" now with the arrest of Tan & Teresa for allegedly playing up racial sentiments, I can bet that racist ahmad (who is of part Indian descendent = NOT PURE MELAYU) will not make so much noise now. And if he does go on a nationwide roadshow to explain to the rakyat about his racist remarks, I'm sure there will be hell lot of people urging the Gomen to use ISA to detain him. If the Gomen doesn't, it's a clear case of double standard.

We shall all wait and see. The Gomen has already showed their double standard practice by:

1) Not detaining racist ahmad ismail mamak

2) Not detaining the reporter that wrote an article alleging Teresa's involvement in a resident's petition over a mosque's azan in a malay daily.

3) Not issuing any show-cause letter to the malay daily that published the article.

Just a piece of advice to the Gomen, don't undermine the Chinese & Indians & other minorities in Malaysia. They can elect You, and they can also throw YOU out of the Parliament! You need their votes too!

Jangan berlagak sombong bodoh!

Hi Patrick,
Yes, I was laughing so hard that I almost fell out of my seat too (bad to happen to someone my age though). But what to do the stupid comedians with their stupid statements shows that they have mud and shit for brains. And as to the stupid comments by the annonymous idiot, just ignore him.

Jivan said...

To Anonymous at time 12:43 pm,

If you are so brave, why didn't you use your real name?? I don't think Patrick is a coward as claimed by you cause the whole Malaysia, if not the whole World, knows who he is. Whatever he writes here, he'll be held accountable for.

Every rakyat with the right mind will be pissed with our stupid politicians, unless, he/she has got blood ties with them lah. So "Anonymous at time 12:43 pm", is our home minister, pm, dpm or racist ahmad your father? hahahaha...or brother? cousin? boyfriend???!!

I pray hard hoping you are not in anyway related to them cause otherwise, you'll be as dumb as them.

hahahaha....man this feels goooooooooood....

Case Khir Toyo.
Why not the Utusan instead of Teresa Kok.

He keeps contradicting himself that so much so, whatever that comes out of his mouth sounds like stand-up comedian Russell Peters satirizing his own race. It's really a huge embarrassment to have a galah like him representing one of the top echelons of government!

Again, Albar, best to stop bollocking to the press abt matters which are beyond your comprehension. Leave that to the professionals. Pls, go back to what you were doing best i.e. kissing yr boss' arse. Continue to kiss coz yr boss' time is running out.

As for Najib, your old man left a legacy which is irreparable. Do the right thing and follow yr younger brother to be the Chairman or advisor of a local bank or something. Leave the managing of the nation to one who THINKS with the right HEAD.

nah, enter (left) the foreign minister armed with a trumpet.

KUALA LUMPUR, 14 Sept (Bernama) -- The Bush administration's interference in Malaysia's internal affairs is no longer surprising as it has been doing that quite often, says Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim.

"On Sept 12, our ambassador in Washington was called by the US State Department and he met the Acting Secretary Glenn Davis who enquired about the recent arrest of individuals under the Internal Security Act (ISA)," he told reporters after launching a collection of philosophy books published by the Malaysian National Translation Institute, here tonight.

In August, the Malaysian ambassador was also called by the US State Department to explain the second sodomy allegation against Parti Keadilan Rakyat advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Rais said following the latest episode, Malaysia had told the Americans about its preventive laws as provided for under Articles 149 and 151 of the Federal Constitution.

"It must be seen that the ISA is one branch of Malaysian law that safeguards or ensures national security.

-- MORE

RAIS-U.S. 2 KUALA LUMPUR

"We've also explained to them that between 1948 and 1960, when the ISA came about, the preventive measures were already in place, and one must realise that Malaysia has three main races whose cultural and religious sensitivities must be protected."

Two individuals still detained under the ISA are blogger and operator of the Malaysia Today website Raja Petra Kamarudin and Seputeh MP Teresa Kok. Sin Chew Daily reporter who was also arrested under the same Act, was however released yesterday.

Rais said the US understood Malaysian laws but wanted to show that it was the "policeman of the world" by registering its feelings over such matters with Malaysia.

He said Malaysia would continue to explain issues to the US and at the same time would raise certain matters which it needed to with the US.

"One is about the fate of the two Malaysians still held at Guantanamo Bay who are still not charged and tried.

"We respect the US for its strident voice on human rights but at the same time it must also look at its own backyard, which is not as good as it is portrayed."

-- MORE

RAIS-U.S. 3 (LAST) KUALA LUMPUR

Rais also said that his ministry planned to summon the US ambassador here to enquire about what should be done with the two Malaysians at Guantanamo Bay whose offence was still not known. On calls for Umno vice-president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to resign from the cabinet for his statement on the power transition plan, Rais said cabinet members should not be asking their colleagues to resign or that action be taken against them.

"Such calls should be ignored, as the power (to sack a cabinet member) lies with the prime minister. It is not proper for any of us as minister or cabinet to make such suggestions as in this case, Muhyiddin was only echoing the voices of the grassroots.

"The branches at their meetings had made certain proposals, including the transfer of power be brought forward. Muhyiddin was only conveying their thoughts and in a democratic country, it should not be the basis for asking someone to resign. We must respect other people's views."

On Anwar's intention to have a closed-door meeting with Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, he said it was up to the prime minister.

"In my view, anyone as an MP or advisor of a political party who want to meet the prime minister should be able to do so. Communication is important. Perhaps from the meeting, Pak Lah will know better what's in store for the future," he said.

Hi Pat,
I have always look at UMNO as a circus and sure enough they do come out with pretty laughable jokes that are totally silly. Syed Hamid is the circus chief clown, beside his law degree he must also have a Phd from the school of umno clowns. I also believe Khairy is the annimal trainer, the Orang Hutan Ahmad Ismail must be one of his trained monkey, this Ahmad sure behave like one.
The circus master does go around waving the keris and than there is the C4 bomber who instead of shooting someone through the cannon, he blows them up. There are many side show guys, and one showman will show you how to rip a picture into halves. Of course there is the finance guy to take care of the money, sadly he 'speaki no Inglish' and took money to down under instead of the bank.
The UMNO circus is about to go the same way as all the circuses such as Tai Thean Kew. Perhaps the clown can make a living cracking jokes at kids birthday parties, his looks is good enough to make kids laugh.

Save RPK as he is the midst of a conspiracy of the real murderers of Altantuya to silence him for good, instead of being C4ed he could be poisoned and worse off if he is on hunger strike by himself. The Acting IGP is defending the Police position after being made the tools of UMNO's fear tactics & so he is now making lame excuses for being the Stringed Puppet to be easily manipulated by the Puppeteer, power that be.

Moronic PeeM and Botak Home Minister last minutes’ attempts to cling on power by using the fear tactics of using the ISA at their whims and fancies selectively against dissent & tried to deny their own actions as they now have no balls to face the wrath of the all the Rakyats of Malaysia.

All Rakyats of Malaysia will see to that these Clowns will be thrown out soon come the New Dawn of Malaysia & that all Rakyats of Malaysia will welcome the New Malaysia on Malaysia Day 916, 2008 for a Malaysia for All Malaysians.

Justice MUST BE DONE for Altantuya and for all those detained under ISA without the trial nor the rights of appeal. Light-up a Candle in the Lantern of the Mid-Autumn Festival for them all to usher in the NEW DAWN OF MALAYSIA COME 916, 2008

We are indeed witnessing an attempt by certain hardcore Umno operatives to create unrest amongst the various races. Remember, it is to create the perfect pretence for the UMNO led government to impose emergency law and thus roll back their losses in the last elections!
The ISA arrests are only part of the plan. There will be further provocations! They are desperately hoping that enough unrest and conflict will arise so that they may use even more hardliner’s tactics with the security forces.
I sincerely hope our fellow citizens will remain calm. Fight, I say…but fight smart. Use the net, use it to spread the word that violence and conflict is to be avoided.
The UMNO hardliners (Dr M, Toyo) have run out of ideas. In their desperation, they have become more ruthless. We just need to stay the course….and these jokers will self destruct.

This Syed Hamid definitely belongs to the circus but I don't know which role would suit him best? Answer: (a)A clown (b)A monkey (c)An idiot (d)A madman (e) All of the above. Pick your choice!

Can I suggest Ringmaster ah?

Haha... Jason, point taken. More and more U-putra people have learnt to tokkok from Sai Hamik. Sending 5 PKR members is a waste of time and money, but sending 49 BN backbenchers to Taiwan amid typhoon season for field study of agriculture is not. What have they learnt? How agricultural site damaged by typhoon that could never happen of Bolehland?

So why not liberalize the country further, and give people other outlets to express their frustrations, such as through a free media? Why not break UMNO's grip on the political system? "The people are not yet ready for that," Dr. Mahathir answered. "Why? Because the Chinese want to remain Chinese. The Indians want to remain Indians. The Malays want to remain Malays. That is a fact."

My dear ex PM

Why do you think the malays want to remain malays, the chinese want to remain chinese and the indians remain indians?

I recall back in the 70s in school, we were taught to be malaysians, not chinese malaysians. It was ok until politicians said we are chinese malaysians etc. I think the reason why there is some truth in what you said is due to failure in implementing correct policies by the govt. Ah, btw, who was the govt all these yrs? They are the ones at fault, not the chinese, malays or indians.

Dear ex PM, you were part of the fault, so are those b4 and after you. And you are probably right, people just want to get rid of current PM. Dont know why? He appears to be such a nice guy.

The government has been acting funny for the last few months. When it involves the high ranking people, they can get away with any allegation just by denying... even when there's statutory declaration involved. But for "other" people, denial is not enough. We need the ISA to straighten things out. RPK's blog has been around for years and yet nothing threatening happened. If Teresa Kok really made that remarks or whatever that she was alleged to do, go and asked the person who really did hear or saw her doing it. And for the Ministers.... pleaaaaaaase stop embarrassing yourselves and pleaaaaaaase stop making stupid statements...!!!

I wish I were a bird so I could exercise my natural right to move my bowels over Botak's head.

And in defence of Teresa Kok whether or not she did intervene for volume consideration: Tolerance works both sides of any religion. I believe the issue was "volume" and not religion. If any church or temple broadcast their chimes or speeches via loud-speaker at the highest volume, they would have received the response from all neighbours regardless of race and religion. The issue is VOLUME not religion.

I once had a muslim visitor to my house when the nearby mosque broadcast its azan at earth shattering volume. My muslim visitor commented how kurang ajar the mosque custodians were.

The issue is VOLUME, not religion.

i believe you have eaten more salt than us eating rice will know that these kind of people are the ones who are really losing the entire plot... losing themselves and desperately trying to salvage something out of nothing when they see that there is already no way out... rather doing something they take it out on others..

hey, mr. bin Al-bar, have u decided
who the NEXT to be ISAed ah !?

z said...

I hope you won't let the "dumb" comments affect your blogging. the logic in their comments mirror the logic that the politicians present to us, and I can't decide which is more terrifying. Democracy has truly failed us when we have no avenue through which we can take these politicians to task. Syed Hamid's non-sequiturs will only give him access to more power.
