Merry Christmas

The Teoh family wishes all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

During this holiday season I would like to share with you something that I witnessed in a small street somewhere in Singapore. Take a look at the photograph that I took of the incredible sight...

Will this ever happen in Malaysia or any other part of the world? I don't know. I hope so. I wish so.

A van belonging to an Islamic welfare home. Donated by a Jewish trust fund. It happened in Singapore. It so perfectly illustrated the spirit of the season...

Peace on earth. Goodwill to all men.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

And to you Patrick.

It is interesting to see how mature some organizations can be. Jews and Muslims are not bad. So are the Buddhist, HIndus etc. Christ comes to earth for all man, cutting accross social stratas, racial and religion.

Merry Christmas to you too Patrick... I don't know about Malaysia and in fact have little faith that this will happen in Malaysia but I know some Buddist in Taiwan actually donates to various welfare homes run by different religious bodies. Good things do happen but you just can't expect it to happen everywhere.

Merry Christmas to you & your wonderful family!!!!

In the case of M'sia it would read (ie in ppl. mind).... "taken from 90% of taxpayers"!

Where you go for 2 weeks lah, Patrick? OK, OK so you went to S'pore and took this picture. Must wait for a fatwa before any Jewish fund can be used to support any Islamic project here.

Christmas is over but still I hope you and family had a good celebration yesterday, Plus a great runup to a great 2009 whatever the naysayers may say about recession and what not.

Merry Christmas to All readers. and HOPEFULLY a good year 2009 ahead.

Things like these can only happen with no government involvement. If the government is runned along religious lines, such things will never happen because it will go against every thing they have preached in the past to make people believe them. (i.e. They LIED). As long as we have government using religion to control people, such things will never happen.

But I am glad it did happen and it has shown there is still hope for mankind in some pockets of this world.

Our real enemy comes from the evil within. It can only be tamed by the love for all mankind, regardless of race, religion or nationality. To all fellow christians, have a blessed christmas and a happy new year.

There are a lot of similariries than the diff between Islam and Jewish what had happened is politic in Jeruselam between Israel and Palestine..both group circumcise and on halal/kosher diet...

In Malaysia, it would have been branded a Jewish plot to destabilise Muslims. Or, to take it further, a Jewish attempt to proselytise Muslims. Of course, our politicians would make a meal of it. Of course, there would be a fatwa concerning donations ... and so on ... blah blah blah.

reading some of these comments make me sad. even here some people managed to spin the beautiful post into snide comments and hatred.

this year it's quite unique, xmas(25 dec) , muslim new year (29 dec) and christian new year( 1 jan 09) is within the same week.

as a muslim i think the post shows the very best of religious tolerance and understanding. would muslims show the same understanding towards the jews?. they have. muslims have protected jews during the bitter prosecutions by the christians in the middle ages. muslims have lived and co existed happily enough with jews and christians in palestine before the creation of israel. etc.

happy new year everyone.

The world can be peaceful for all if only we use our own reasoning powers instead of being manipulated by self-serving people and groups. It's only when one keeps one's emotions in check can one carry out such selfless act which you witnessed in Singapore.

Merry Christmas to one and all and may 2009 be the start of better things to come for all.

Merry Christmas...buthow long can we remain merry. Perwaris wants to ban pir rearing in certain parts of Melaka. Actually I think they just want it ban in malaysia.

How about those who do not eat beef ask govt to ban cow/bull rearing.

Then those who do not eat meat ask govt to ban animal rearing if they are for consumption.

Then those serious fella who only eat fruits that are ripen till they drop...aiyah..they ask for complete ban of meat and veg.

How la. I think those religious people who are inclined to impose their values be given certain part of this beautiful country and then we fence it up to prevent them from coming into contact from people who are unclean la.

Malaysians, ecnomy not so good already la, wake up and do something to improve it rather then talking rubbish can or not.

If you dont like pig then do eat pig la. if you are not allowed to eat pig then dont eat pig la. Others want to eat you let them eat can or not? Intolerant people. who do you serve?

I expected to see comments running down muslism in malaysia and there they are...

that was what you were fishing for right, Patrick

well
NIAMAH right back at you

Shamsul, your comment is very disturbing. I came back here to re-read all the comments and contrary to what you said I do not see any that are "running down" Muslims in Malaysia. Yes, the comments do subtly run down the government and other authorities for their myopic views and their manipulation of religion and race in their divisive style of management. Actually, if you believe what you wrote to me then you are obviously a very successful product of that system.

Hi Pat,
merry xmas and happy new year too.
I am msian, working and living in s'pore for 2 decades now. I have seen this van, and also similar ones donated to muslim welfare homes by buddhist/taoist organizations. In fact, I have even seen one donated to a buddhist welfare home by a muslim organizaton.
I have always viewed these gestures positively, and with no offence intended to our homeland,I find this practice works well here in helping to integrate the communities.
cheers

Its really nice to see that picture you post. IT just shows everyone in the world....Jews/ Muslim/ Christian don't really hate each others...its only politician who greed on power/ land manipulate the issue.

Who suffer in the end...those who live in particular gaza strip....I read news report about the shops at Palestine/ Israel are gearing up for a good tourist season this yr for Christmas but before you know it...those who run the gov start fighting...I guess now those poor chap who gearing up for brisk business at Israel and Palestine KENA again lor.

Sometimes I just wonder...since majority claim it is related to all those disagreement how to split up jerusalem and other important land mark for the jews and muslim....might as well i just pray God put his wrath on all landmark....wipe them all out...I like to see what they ends up claiming why they need to fight.....coz in the end it is just greed of power as we seen on all politician who decide policy.

3 in 1. first Maal Hijrah in the muslim calender, then the New Year in the christian calender and finally the Chinese New Year all within a month. It signifies unity, prosperity and peace to me.
And that should be something we hold on to dearly.

Well, there is nothing wrong with the pic that you posted Patrick. Its nice to know there are concerned Jewish organisation who are charitable to a muslim home....but...
the same cannot be said about the Jews of Israel who are killing hundreds of innocent children in Gaza right NOW!

The look on their faces tell you how scared and tomented they are.

What do you have to say about that?

HAPPY NEW YEAR BROTHER!

MUHAMMADIYAH IS NOT ISLAM. THEY ARE NOT MUSLIMS. DIFFERENT .

Stephen said...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammadiyah

now i am puzzled.... wikipedia claim it is the 2nd largest islamic org in indonesia!!.

so what is the differences?

also... I don't like the media coverage on the recent conflict.. there's claim of Hamas missle attach on Israel that trigger the counter attack.

where is the media coverage on that? there's report claimed media are banned to enter Gaza but there's picture os injured citizen.

look into the situation. I only see it is media manipulation and political bull shit that drive people hate each other.

palestinian and normal israelist are suffering....while both side are fighting. I can foresee how easy Israel forces will hit civilian given all the Hamas base smack in the middle of housing area etc.

Honestly when I watch the media...there's no wide report on OPEC member complaining hard or involve in the fight since they also love to threaten Israel....coz they manage to enjoy a small increase of cruel oil price!!! USD 34 to USD50 and when Israel dicided to cease fire...the price drop...plus the conflict lost it steam to bring up oil price.

i can only believe this war only show people trying to suck money thru giving pain and grief to civilian.

now eveyrnight I ends up bombard by a michael jackson look alike asking us to donate...
