Oh you all live like this one issit?

Najib: Aiyoh!!! KL is really congested la. I never knew!

Why is it that these days whenever I read about politicians especially those like the PM, DPM and the top YAB's I get really pissed off? I realise that some of those things I read aren't really their fault as the stories are results of actions by their subordinates or colleagues acting or speaking, supposedly, on their behalf.

Yesterday's Sunday Times carried a story about Najib's latest PR stunt. Another walkabout in the city. Okay, nothing wrong with that as we ordinary Malaysians have discovered with Abdullah Badawi's stroll through Immigration which resulted in super-efficient passport renewals. But then some dumb arse has to open his mouth and tokkok.

This time it is the turn of the new Federal Territories Minister, Raja Nong Chik (what a name!) I wonder what possessed him to say, "Through the walkabout and by boarding the LRT with the people, he (Najib) experienced first-hand what they have to go through daily, like jams and other difficulties, in conjested areas."

I don't know about you but for me all that statement achieved was to confirm in my mind how dislocated and out of touch with reality the Prime Minister of my country is. And surely that is not a good sign, is it? Scary. I mean, he needed a walkabout in the Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman area to know that KL is a congested city that experiences massive traffic jams on a regular basis? He doesn't know that for a capital city of a country boasting that it will attain developed status in 11 years time its public transport system is a joke? And to add salt to our wounds the PM announced that he "...has instructed the Federal Territories Ministry and other relevant ministries to ensure the facilities are improved for the benefit of the public." Now really, Najib! How many times have we heard this crap line and from how many YAB's before you? From previous experience we all know it's hogwash and I am sure you know it too. Saying stuff like that almost always means that the person saying it (in this case, you) doesn't know what the hell to do but thought that it sounded good to say to a crowd of people. Actually, people who say these sort of things also most times do not even know where they are. "Oh you mean that was Jalan TAR ah? Aiyoh!" You get my drift? So please la, Najib. You're my new Prime Minister. You're the one promising to build 1Malaysia. But can you get real first before you tell us anything? Quite tiring listening otherwise.

NIAMAH!!!

Let's see how our new pm will perform to his duties this time. However, he has been pushing the right buttons so far. Is he going to stumble and fall flat on his face?
Time will tell...

Politicians think us malaysians all stupid. Everything they say we believe

Everytime a political big-shot does something like this, the MSM makes a big hoo-ha about it like it's an incredible feat.

If it's taken him this 'feat' to realise that congestion in KL is horrible with the worst public transport system, then he's no more useful than the next tin kosong promising things but never delivers. Any person in the street can tell you that.

If the Gov had actually bothered to read and respond to numerous complaints about the public transport then he needn't have to come out to the street to realise that. It's nothing more than a publicity stunt.

Aiyah Uncle, it's a PR stunt lah...He must be using a stunt double to go around KL otherwise he could get a shoe to his Mongol face..( mongol face = tembam but not as tembam as his husband Rosmah...No, not a typo..it is husband)..The UMNO leader mana mau turun tempat2 rakyat susah....All of them have never had to pay toll, pay for petrol, go to pasar or even use the dirty public toilet...They all live in paradise on earth, chauffeured driven, huge palaces, no traffic jams cos police closed all road to other users further exacerbating the jams , fly in private jets, go holidaying to Disneyland with rakyat's money. Come the day after he would have forgotten about the rakyat's problem and continued on enjoying life in paradise....NIAMAH!

Hiyah by now you should know that these politician live in a world of their own. They think they are gods! In their minds, they have done a wonderful thing just by coming down to see our everyday lives for a few hours and then return back to their high throne in Menara UMNO!

Sorry Fahmi, I really don't think it's funny. Yes, they say the darnest things, totally agree, but mind you these are the people who will be deciding where the country funds go to and the direction the country is heading for. It's not funny, it's real scary.

Another way to experience our misery is do away with your outriders and join the daily traffic jams and also pay the sickening toll. Wonder if the semi value have to pay toll now?

I think as the FT Minister the whoever-is-his-name fler should first of all try out all the public transport system in the city, and experience first hand what's the current state of our beloved transport system is these days. Also he should take a drive on his own (and not by his driver) to experience first hand what's the road conditions in KL. Like that barulah means the fler knows what an ordinary citizen is going thru each day, you think everyone got motorcade to ply the roads for them ah, niamah !!!

Before the walkabout, the streets swept clean, go la... to those back lanes where rats as big as cats rule the drains near makan stalls etc. Also always have huge entourage of hangers on and body guards surrounding the VIPs until the rats will not make an appearance. Hope these VIPs also go drive abouts without the police escorts and getting jammed along tolled highways! High blood la!

Like so many office workers we have had stuck in endless jams in LRT,buses for close to easily 15 years now...but only now the top guns seem to realise the chaotic hopelessness we faced day in day out just to put some food on the table.Tomorrow is another new challenging day for us no-choice commuters.BTW where had these guys been all these while ah?

Anonymous said...

Another hidden agenda? Remember, masa Pak Lah naik public transport dulu and give his comment? out of sudden Scomi was given the contract to improve the condition. But instead they just replace the existing buses with the new busses but never improve the system. The not too old buses were dumped in Ulu Choh.

Hello Patrick,
You buggers are never grateful, how many YAB's have already said that they will make the FT Minister take care of the problems there and you still don't believe them.
How many more will have to come down and take a walk there and make the same statement to make you believe that they are sincere?
Aiyah Mr Patrick, like this cannot lah one.
Like some Raja said in his blog, just by talking only, the problem there have started to go away. Traffic jams are now turning into traffic butter, congestions are now turning into "get togethers", what samore you want?
This is only one day of walking and talking you know. Give me some more time of walking and talking lah, then only all problems will be solved.
Aiyah, tiiuuu....

Hello Patrick

I hope our politicians could be like your character in 'Red Thread' (TCS new drama, currently being shown in Singapore) that has a tag line "A Man So Righteous He Canot Be Seen To do Any Wrong".

It would be a shame if our local TV stations do not screen this TV series.

Just take away Najib's traffic police escort and shift his office to Chinatown and he'll experience what many common folks are going through daily.

Patrick
don't u think our PM have anything better to do. Why appoint the cocky raja nong chik to be FT minister if najib still have to turun padang to "feel" our daily frustrations. Aiyoo! Yeah right, they kelabu our eyes, only the suckers clap hands. -annie

Given up hope, given up faith!! Just be the low-live and shut-up else we will be branded 'unappreciative' again.

Places like Jalan TAR , Chinatown and Bricksfield is like a foreign country to such people .
Pretending not knowing the daily problems of the rakyat is really a disgusting act.
People like najis and those Very Important Pigs with polis outriders and 3-8 escort vehicles contributes to adding jams in the city.

NiaMah!!! to all those important pigs using roads in Bukit Bintang.

Salam sejahtera.

kita rakyat malaysia mesti bersatu padu. Buat apa PAS pun kata nak bertanding. PKR pun nak bertanding.
