I must be really out of touch with Malaysian news while I was in the little red dot. Apparently, according to a recent Tenaga Nasional report it announced that it hoped to start its first nuclear power plant by 2025 once it gets the go-ahead from the government. And today's newspapers carry reports that Muhyiddin Yassin had gotten France's offer to help us build our first nuclear power plant as an alternative source of energy supply. Now you can call me what you like but this is how I feel about this news.
For a nation of people who can't a) keep public toilets clean, b) maintain the exterior paintwork of buildings, c) keep litter off the streets, d) repair pot-hole in highways, e) obey simple traffic rules, f) police and regulate local councils.............we think we can operate and maintain a nuclear power plant???!!! France thinks we can (read this piece on French nuclear capabilities by Greenpeace) and according to Maximus Ongkili, South Korea thinks we can too. Of course they also think that we can afford to pay them the billions that will be needed to uphold their 'confidence' in our discipline. The only consolation is that (I might be wrong) the first nuclear power plant, will be in Johor. So it will at least take some time before the fallout reaches the Klang Valley. Maybe that's why those flers down south want all that sand. Maybe they want to build a lead-reinforced concrete wall between them and us. What you think?
NIAMAH!!!

Holly smoke.....they gonna built it near Johor? why? can't it be somewhere in the legacy Gunung Ledang where the Puteri can "jaga" for us?
this is bad....I'm staying in Johor....so i better but the largest safe available on earth to save my family....
They can't even build a building without it collapsing, now a nuclear plant?
why do we need a nuclear power plant at the first place?
There must be some other alternative to harvest energy. With all the tech now days... solar, wind, bio.... makes you think by 2025, will nuke be a past and obsolete. Where the F we going to throw the waste?
We live in Bolehland... semuanya OK!
Why worry ? We can employ expats to run the plant ma. A case in point is our Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, you see so many expat musicians and so few locals.
We can send a Malaysian into space ( not sure what to call him - astronaut or tumpang-naut?) , where got problem to build a N plant ?
The French n Koreans obviously had been hearing our shouts of 'Malaysia Boleh'. So maybe they thought that if Malaysia Boleh in this n that, Malaysia also Boleh pay them billions of RMs to build a nuclear power plant.'Malaysia Boleh' die at their hands, come rain or shine! CIAO!
I shudder to think what the future looks like if this nuclear thing is to go ahead... imagine say a leak and probably our beloved leaders will hightail it out of here with their families in tow..our no - maintenance mentality will surely invite a disaster courtesy of our beloved minister.Someone please highlight to Greenpeace cos they're the first people that come to mind ... I'm not ever watching France play football ever again or watch a Korean TV serial again .. WTF!!!
Nang See Liao
LOLZ This post is a classic. Thanks so much for the laughs. I think the kiasus will definitely build bunkers.
I'd better start building mine too. Knowing KL's lousy transportation, I'd be annihilated before i cld even get onto any vehicle.
It's indeed frightening,we MALAYSIAN
don't have a good maintenance culture,so how are we to maintain
a nuclear plant where if anything goes
wrong can be devastating.Of course
the supplier says we can,for they
are after our money only and nothing
else is of concern to them.Good riddance to these people who propose
nuclear technology. Are they after the commission.
The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades ....
Wat a load of bullshit....they couldnt even get a proper solid waster incinerator to run....wat more nuclear plants....
g) dog owners let their dogs poo all over Paris street as a form of street artists' masterpiece ...
h) every corner in Paris provide stale urine aroma ...
Question 1: What is the sole objective of building a nuclear power plant?
Answer 1: Another project by BN cronies to make 1 billion euro in commission.
Question 2: Why build the power plant in Johore?
Answer 2: Aiyah...so obvious lah. DPM's cronies come from there mah.
A little nuclear leakage and walla!! Malaysians will breed a generation of mutants in the near future... Imagine having a Prime Minister with two faces....oh wait, we already have that...I meant anatomically two faced.....Malaysia Boleh!!
I give you a contract to build a nuclear plant, you keep a lid on the French press about Mongolian lady. I scratch your back, you scratch mine.
what ! france again ? O no : where to get another pretty interpreter ?
check this article from greenpeace:

EPR: Enfant Terrible of the French Nuclear Indu
http://weblog.greenpeace.org/makingwaves/archives/2009/06/epr_enfant_terrible_of_the_fre.html
the project is over budget by billion and their billin is in euro.
Should spend more effort to build effective mass transit system for the rakyat, improving agricultural outputs, creating better social environment, implementing good education systems .......
%&)$#@#^!!!
what man .... go build such an expensive toy benefiting who?
Stop the crap !!!
built in Johor? dude, you seems to forget that Johor is no longer part of Malaysia. it is 50-50 sharing with Singapore la *grin*. u think Singapore is going to let BN built it so close to their land?? you really think so?? duuuddeee...
The french and the koreans dont give a shit if it leaks. Its business to them, off course they'll say malaysia is ready
Seriously I don't quite trust the Froggies. When come to business everything can as long as they get the contracts. Good example is the submarine deal & Altantuya murder case. And their attitude towards others are like 'We are more superior'. See how they thump their nose at the American & British after they had liberated them from the Nazi.
Billions to build a nuclear plant. No problem we got money mah!. After spending more than 12 billions on PKFZ and 52 billion on 30% equity, a nuclear plant is sap sap siou(no problem). It is a money making scheme for some people. Anyway I am going to live far far away for it, in case the roof of the plant collapses, or should I say blow sky high.
Haiya ! Uncle Pat ! Didn't we send our boy to space ?
We can have 2 Menteri Besar what ?
We can ! Definitely Malaysia Boleh !
If Homer Simpson can operate a nuclear plant, then why not our capable Malaysians? Duh!
Enough said.
Dear Patrick,
well done what you have said. There is no other word to express besides yours. thanks. paul
now all we need is to hire some tidak-apa-good-for-nothing-pemalas-cannot-read-engrish gahmen servant to run the nuclear reactor.....and watch malaysia become chernobyl.
And our nuclear plant will be maintained by guys doing their science and maths in bahasa...scary thoughts isnt it
