Raya present to the Rakyat

Shall I tell them for Raya or not?

As Malaysians all over the country celebrate Hari Raya Aidil Fitri many may have missed this little Raya "present" from our Prime Minister which he chucked out there a couple of days ago.

He was commenting on the illegal posting of documents on the Malaysia Today website recently showing a request to increase the cost for the project. The request from the Finance Ministry was for a retrospective increase in cost for the controversial Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) project from about RM1 billion to nearly RM5 billion.

Najib said that despite the Official Secrets Act the people will continue to be informed of developments on the PKFZ investigation.

That's all great and as it should be.

And now as a Niamah!!! commenter pointed out, here is the humiliating part. Najib's present to all of us during this holiday season.......he said,

“We are not denying the people the right to information on PKFZ, but if there is anything we want to tell the people, we will announce it later.

Well, thank you, SIR!

NIAMAH!!!

If you need to study tonque twisting art...Najib is second best to Mahathir.
In simple language...dirty politics at it's best.
Lets enjoy all the UMNO and MCA side shows.
Performances at it's best too.
It is who will take the winner's cup for being the best liar...best hypocrite.
Does Najib still thinks....he can fool Malaysians...like Mahathir did before?
Tunku Abdul Rahman said..."We are on the road to dictatorship.I cannot see any other way..This is no democracy"..when Mahathir applied Operation Lalang....using ISA....as an excuse.
Watch out Najib.

The Singapore Malay National Organisation (PKMS, short for Pertubuhan Kebangsaan Melayu Singapura) in Malay; is a political party in Singapore, was originally a branch of the United Malays National Organisation UMNO, but split when Singapore left Malaysia in 1965.

PKMS rival factions clash violently over power transition dispute. Violence broke out on between rival factions of one of Singapore Malay National Organisation or PKMS (Pertubuhan Kebangsaan Melayu Singapura).

Five people were injured and admitted to hospital. The victims were admitted to the intensive care unit in hospital. Twenty-one people were arrested for rioting.

The fighting took place outside the PKMS headquarters in Eunos between two camps - the outgoing and incoming office bearers - who are feuding over power transition.

Surely UMNO have the same but not reported in any media.

Reading your posting, just as often happpens on reading the gems from our illustrious leaders, I am again reminded of a lengthy saying, quoting Abraham Lincoln, no less:

You can fool some of the people all the time,
All of the people, some of the time,
BUT NOT ALL THE PEOPLE, ALL THE TIME!

If only the folks who make up our country's government will just see the sense in those words, and stop making us puke.

We have had enough of racist twists, fanning of narrow religious fervour, selective memory lapses, blantant hypocrisy, shameless spin-doctoring and outright lies.

I'd laugh if only it did not hurt so much, if only it did not cost the rakyat so much.

Chinese Malaysians appear to have grown increasingly dismissive of the power struggle happening in MCA and that is a distressing sign for an organisation which is entrusted by the Barisan Nasional coalition to help regain the trust and support of the community.

3,376 police personnel from various branches in the PDRM were deployed to maintain order and ensure smooth election of the Kuala Terengganu by-election.

You are great as Honda-san in Sumolah. I watched the movie on TV2 last nite. I am gald I did not watch Sifu & Tongga on TV3.

If I am not wrong, that was your last local movie before you 'migrated' as a foreign talent to Singapore.

Didn't you ever get invited to work for Patrick Teo of Metroweath?
He normally reward his actors/directors with Mercedes! You may want to try your luck with him.

Global corruption watchdog, Transparency International (TI), has ranked Malaysia as the 47th least corrupt nation in the world and commended the island state of Penang for its anti-corruption efforts.

Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng says he is “humbled” by the recognition by TI and added that he was concerned over the fact that that corruption could cost Malaysia as much as RM10 billion a year – an amount equivalent to 1 or 2 per cent of GDP as pointed out by the GCR when it cited the findings of the special government business facilitation task force Pemudah and the World Bank.

Malaysia’s per capita spending of only RM5 on anti-corruption efforts and the fact that only about 10 per cent, or just 7,223 potential corruption cases, of the total 71,558 reported between 2000 and 2006 were investigated by the Anti Corruption Agency, the precursor of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, with a conviction rate of less than one percent.

Trying to cover up this PKFZ issue today is like trying to contain fart in a stocking. It is incredible that this pm fler is still making foot- shooting comments. By investigating into who leaked the docs, it is to proven to the whole world that the irregularities in pkfz, something that bn had strongly denied before, are true afterall.

Having scanned through the local movies shown on free-to-air TV over the Syawal period, I would say the local (read Malay) movies are mostly syiok sendiri and no appeal outside its own community.

Pity that a Chinese have to be a Japanese to cari makan in local movie.

Other race are not represented at all.

Finas is supporting the wasteful venture with tax payers' money.

Ibrahim Ali said...

Harvard Business School should also undertake to learn about the PKFZ fiasco and adopt it as a case study. It's a perfect case of a rotten deal of the BN government which cost the Malaysian public a loss of 12.5 billion ringgit.

This is the hallmark of najibnomics.

Jestmelah said...

Dear Cicak Woman, I dissagree with you. Malay movies have been watched over the years (e.g. P. Ramlee movies, etc) by a multiracial crowd. Must all Malaysian movies have a multi-racial cast? Come on! (anyway, I'm glad you're not 'anonymous').

Then, some BN fella will tell you that he or she will be the champion for the whole of Malaysian community to fight corruption !

They can't tell you anything much now and will let us know later !

Remember...this was the reason why Dr.M insisted that BN should have a 2/3 majority, so that anything BN wants can be bulldozed thru.
Never again a 2/3 majority to any parties.

Anonymous said...

I agree with Cicak Woman.

Local malay movies tend to use only that Corrie Guy (the dance instructor in AF, now renamed himself Adam after conversion) to represent Chinese.

Even Patrick Teoh is cast as a japanese.

Only Yasmin Ahmad's malay movies worth watching by all races in malaysia because it is real.

Anonymous said...

The Chinese woman in Malay movies or drama is either that Angeline Teoh or Louisa Chong.

As for Indian, it is either Acapan or that Indian lady in Puteri (sorry I don't remember her name).

I wonder if the rest of the Chinese or Indians in Malaysia cannot act in Malay drama/movie?

Shame to producers like Patrick Teo (of Metrowealth, not Patrick Teoh of Niamah).

Cina Sepet said...

Jestmelah

For your information, ever since the invention of video cassette recorder (long before CD and DVD), the Chinese community can watch Hong Kong TVB drama series and can forget about P Ramlee movies.

The Chinese watch P Ramlee movies on RTM back on those days because RTM only show 1 Chinese movie per week, beside the local 30 mins of 4 Sekawan drama.

Believe me, the young Chinese generation born with Astro do not know who P Ramlee is.

That is a fact of globalised society.

Therefore I would care less of local Malay movies and drama which are inferior in production and can only syiok sendiri.

We have to accept facts.

Anonymous said...

I agree with Cina Sepet.

Why should we support local movies when FINAS has already given them so much funding?

The ticket price for local movies should be half-price because the quality is not on-par with Hollywood/Bollywood/HongKong.
