As the first Hari Raya under new Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, it should be an occasion for Malaysians regardless of faith, race or political beliefs to give real meaning to his 1Malaysia slogan so that it will not be short-lived and the butt of ridicule, derision and contempt like the slogans of previous premiers.
However, Najib’s praise for Utusan Malaysia for being “the voice of the people, especially the Malay community” could not have come at a worse time with a more disastrous consequence, when Utusan Malaysia had been most guilty in fanning racial and religious ill-will and misunderstanding in recent months.
Malaysia’s international competitiveness recently came under a cloud with two adverse global rankings – falling three places from 21st to 24th ranking in the World Economic Forum (WEF)’s Global Competitiveness Report (GCR) 2009-2010 and a drop of two places in the World Bank’s Doing Business 2010: Reforming Through Difficult Times from 21st to 23rd placing.
With institutional efficiency, independence and professionalism a major factor in Malaysia’s fall in international competitiveness rankings, and no signs of meaningful institutional reforms as evident from the prolonged crisis of confidence in key institutions like the judiciary, the police, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency, the Elections Commission and the public service, Malaysia’s future in the global arena is grim.
A meaningful slogan, programme and policy of 1Malaysia is one response – but not when 1Malaysia is mere rhetoric contradicted at every turn of reality that it stands for the very opposite of an united, harmonious and competitive Malaysia.

Since 308 I've been blogs hopping almost daily and I got to UR blog thru Antares(a most wonderful guy in many ways).
I had wanted to make some comments in UR blog,but don't the courage till now. My fear is that I'd make lots of spelling mistakes that will render my mwssage unreable.U see I've this spelling and vocab deficiency also my bad grammars since my school days till now. That means I flop in all my English subjects. An here u make the best English write ups and speeches.
I'm now a SC of 66 and still have this great fear.Let U know I did not a single Pen-Pal which was the craze in the '60s & '70s.
Maybe IM cheong-hei but my purpose is to praise U for all UR write-ups in ur bolg which make best sence and best readings.
A sujestion though, NIAMA should'nt be ur heading. Reason: NIAMA is just like cursing ur own or others MOTHERS. During my younger days I used to fight with "friends" who simply said "TiewNeaMa". So I would humbly sujest that TiewKauNei will be more approprate?

Eat in moderation else be a victim of heart attack later.

I was just in HYAT REGENCY in a pub/club called CHUKKA.... Kuantan, if the JAIP came in n raided....wow alot of Katrina DEWAs & DEWIs there...rotan price will go up...wat crap this is...N THEY NOT DRINKIN BEER...JDs N BLACKs...BY THE BOTTLE MIND YOU....SORRY TO SAY A WHOLE LOT OF CRAP..SOME COULD NOT EVEN PISS STRAIGHT...YES THEY WERE THAT YOUNG...INCREDIBLE...KETUANAN MELAYU...& RELIGION...I WAS THE ONLY INDIAN...3 CHINESE, 3 KWAI LO......AND THE REST WERE....TADAAAAA....MELAYU...probably Christian Malays..or OTHERS>>>JAIP BULLSHIT....
