This is a bad way to end the year staying in bed with..Malaria or dengue
But then , malaysia IS malaria.
God... sent your angels over Antares and keep evil and malaria away from him.

Just visited him. He is still in induced sleep. His condition has not really changed since yesterday. But I saw him breathing well. Temperature is 35.5. Pulse is about 70. He looks strong. I am sure he will fight it out like the strong man he is. He will get through this. I just know it. He will.

Malaria had been unheard of in Malaysia until we started allowing foreign workers into Malaysia legally and illegally. The Health Minsiter (in today's NST) blames it on the illegal ones. Foreign workers were required to have a medical check up in their home country before coming into Malaysia and once in Malaysia, they only do the check up here a year later when they renew the work permit. Imagine how much diseases they spread to us during the one year. How much can we trust the medical checkup from the home country ? The company that I used to work, require the foreign workers to do another check up when they arrive (at our own cost) and we did find some who were supposed to fail the medical check up like tuberculosis. Not sure whether the Ministry of Health now require the foreign workers to have the medical check up down upon arrival. I know the ministry was dragging its feet on this issue. So, Antares may have gotten the malaria from this oversight of the ministry of health which is supposed to have safeguarded our health. We were proud to have eradicated diseases like TB, malaria, etc but now it is coming back
May God, our Creator, heal Antares M with His holy hands ! Grant Antares peace and the knowledge that he is in good Hands !
May Antares be healed the soonest possible !

How strange it is to find this post more than 2 years later, while Googling something.... almost like reading about somebody else! But the good wishes are most heartwarming - bless everyone who left kind thoughts here! The Red Queen's assassin mosquito accomplished its mission - but, obviously, I survived to witness her dethronement from power... not long now, folks!
