Any problem call us ya?

TM (Telecom Malaysia)SUCKS!!!

It's been 3 maybe 4.......maybe 5 days? I don't remember and I have given up counting. But it's been days since I went to that Kedai TM Point at Ampang Point to transfer my phone and Streamyx to a new address. I do remember distinctly the TM pegawai fler's parting words were, "Kalau ada apa apa masaalah uncle panggil la nombor ni...100"

This morning I discovered that I cannot call 100 except from a TM landline! Which of course I don't have because they take at least 9 working days to affect a change of address. And I have yet had no call from the 'contractor' which would have marked the 1st day of the wait. So I am still in limbo as far as my phone line and Streamyx are concerned.

TM must be one of the most inefficient monopolies in Malaysia.


Some weeks ago when the other flers were doing their POTONG ads all over the place, TM came out with their defence. Remember that newspaper ad which showed some guy leaning out of his window with a gadget that looked incredibly like the Potong tool? The tagline in that TM ad was Why go with the unknown? My friend, Kurt came out with the perfect answer......

COS THE KNOWN SUCKS!

Can we make this a viral thing? Send this message to all your friends. Via blogs, facebook, sms, Tweeter, YouTube ..... anything.

You are absolutely correct. TM sucks! I have given up on it since last May and opted for the "potong" ISP for my internet. And I have blogged about it months ago in Chinese at http://oldfolkstalks.blogspot.com
"P--" is an organization that respects its customers and you know what, they offered a one day refund for an long breakdown of service (about 8 hours).

You stay in high-end KL suburb also got problem, like that I die lah becos I live in a small town.
I know TM do not give a damn shit to small customers.

What a bloody shame to the MSC vision. Wonder why TDM did not make noise on this matter since he started MSC.

No a single doubt. TELEKOM is really, REALLY LOUSY compared to other telcos in S'pore, Australia and Hong Kong (places I have previously stayed in).

PRICING SUCKS...
SERVICE SUCKS...
PRODUCTS SUCK...

M'sians just to have make sure they have more sweat/blood ($$$) for Telekom to SUCK...

why so frustrate uncle pat. just sign up with the 'potong' co.
just like what 'skyta' said, their service much more better, i've complaint twice regarding slow connection and i ended up getting free surfing for a month cos the slowness due to upgrading service. well ... hope so it's bcos of the upgrading.

Thanks for all the support guys. Really appreciate it. I've heard good things and bad things about those Potong flers too. But mostly good la. The trouble is there is NO potong here where I live. So it is not an option for me. Another typical Malaysian thing la. No credibility in any advertising on any medium. No accountability either. But that's our Malaysia. BOLEH!

I hope the potong guy will reach you soon. maybe you can call them. given your high standing, maybe you can offer to be a potong spokesperson for P1 and teach TM a lesson for not hormati a celebrity like you.

Hahahaha...Tom Tom Bak I don't live in a high end estate. And if I did wouldn't that mean that I would get services without problems? Oh...of course not. This is Malaysia. And I'm afraid that I am not of a celebrity level high enough for anyone to really be bothered with. Well, except for friends like you and most of the visitors to Niamah!!! Thanks anyway. :-)

TM are sucker effiecint now.
You know they offer voice box service for free. But they have the idiot mentality of calling you up at 6.30 in the morning to inform you that you have a missed call.. and the call was probably 3 days ago.

The same goes with celcom... So next time your friend did not response to your voice message...please give him the benefit of doubt.

Of course TM is the most inefficient monopoly in 1Malaysia. They can afford to be inefficient because they are the monopoly. Their motto is: You can stuff it if you don't like our service. We are TM (Tentu Monopoly).

I also 'potong' already. The thing with the 'potong' service is that I'm one badass fussy customer. Anything wrong, I call them...no matter what kind of shit i throw at them, they stay calm and professional in handling my complaints and they get things done n solve my problems.

I have many problems with TM, the latest was about a month ago and a complaint to their customer service came back with the reply that they will take a month to three months to inform me again, that is, if they do come back to me!!. Imagine the cheek of them, saying 30 days to 90 days!! Man can blast off to the furthest planet and return to earth 10 times in that period just for TM to report back to me!! But, what to do? We have to live with this monopoly dinosaur, a creature of same goons in the ruling government!Yes, I support the calls to do a Namewee on them.

i don't know, last i heard, Potong co coverage sucks too, maybe it's only here in Penang, if your modem is in the house, no line, have to take to the window..

now we all already know TM sucks, no need to elaborate..

i think, the known and unknown sucks all the same, not only internet, but almost every other aspect in our beloved Bolehland..

Dear Patrickteoh,

First I'm using Maxis Broadband and it sucks
Then I changed to Celcom Broadband and it sucks too
Currently I'm using Streamyx. So far I have no complain to raise on it's advertised speed as I have been getting more than 4mbps,

What you have been experienced now happened to me too. I suggest that you go back to TM point and get the contractor contact HP number and call them. It took me more than 2 weeks to get my Streamyx working.

I work in Sri Hartamas, and I have had my telekom lines for 8 months now. Recently, my hunting line stopped "hunting" so my secretary called Telekom and asked them to check. The first thing they came back with was that I never requested for a hunting line when I applied for the phone lines 8 months ago. Then my secretary pointed out that our lines were all part of a main "hunting" line for the past 8 months, and it was operating perfectly before. The answer was "ye ke?" . To avoid further arguments, I wrote a letter officially requesting for the reinstatement of the hunting line.

A week ago, I applied for a telekom line for another of my business, and they promised to call and install within 3 working days. It's now 6 working days, and I'm still waiting for the phone call.

Malaysia Boleh !

same thing with jaring. they closed the mid valley office where i usually pay my bill. my internet line was cut due to late payment ..... my fault entirely. but the best part was when i was told to pay online ..... only problem was that i had no line.

I don't think the TM people in Ampang (opposite Ampang Puteri) knows what's going on for both phone lines and streamyx. I waited a good 2 months for my phone line only to find out from TMPoint Titiwangsa that the line was available more than 3 months ago. So best to double check since the first 3 days is up. All the best! And I think 100 works using cellphones.

Of course you cannot call 100 except from TM line and believe me that's not necessarily a bad thing. Even if you do have excess to TM line and call 100 you will not achieve much, unless you have a lot of time to spare. If you are still working to earn a living or you simply have something better to do then holding your phone receiver to your ear, having the TM line excess would only cause you more frustration.

They really suckkkasss. I pay RM99 every month and my streamyx have a mind on ite own. It comes on and off as it likes. I m waiting for the Potong guys to come to mt area. I m sure to Potong.

Saya selalu duk berbual dengan pekerja Telekom di bahagian teknikal. Overtime ilek kerja semua kontrak sapu kerja dia orang dari pgi hingga petang hilang entah kemana. Eksekutif diaorang terlalu lama stay kat satu bahagian dan buat duit tepi . Masa lapang involve politik pula. Ada god father mana mau takut. Ini TM lagi swasta lagi hancus berbanding masa government dulu....ma tecnikal dengan marketing tak ada kautim baik selalu gaduh ..ma Ada Union ..Union karbaik....tak bolih kasi tolong

Telekom's business mantra is very simple: Take it or fuck it. Every time my internet link is out, I know I am screwed because calls to Telekom are like going to hell. Looks like we have to live with it until Umno is kicked out.

Same thing happend to me. I made line transfer request since 2nd Dec, there are no so call contractor call me even I've called to chase > 3 times untill now.

You can call 1300888123 to their CS to chase and complain. (I get it from them when my 1st follow up the request status which took >1 hour for me to queue in their branch just to ask a question and get CS no# from them) They even told me the new assigned no# in my new place is a re-use no# and still under other's people name. The worst is their system do not have contractor contact assigned yet!! WTH!!

Pat, with all that info that you have, I think you should lodge a formal complaint with the Consumer affairs. They too are not very effective, but they do follow up with letters, etc.etc. Better than nothing I suppose. But I'd imagine the best is also to complain to MCMC, and copy the letter to TM's directors..etc...
Who knows, maybe they'll give you free intenet for life just to shut you up??

I've been disconnected at home since 28 Sept... due to a faulty modem which Streamyxsux was supposed to send a 'technician' to fix it.

you are lucky cos you are still counting days, where i'm already counting weeks and months soon.

i've made enough calls to Streamyxsux and pressed them for a definite date and time but it seems there's no other way than to just wait for the "r'tardnician".

and no... if you are staying in a high rise, above the 10th floor (the potong team will disagree but this is tried and tested by many and i stay in the heart of the city), DO NOT POTONG! signals are much weaker.

so, at best, all i can say is, GOOD LUCK!!!!

btw, TM stands for Tak-reti Malu...

Worst thing is each time you call up Telecom, you do not get to speak to a "natural person" but you will be put on a wild goose chase speaking to a computer! And eventually, your problems have to be handled by a HUMAN BEING! Just wondering who is the IDIOT who thought of using these answering machines to serve customers!

once i canceled my lines as my house was sold. the house was vacant for 3 months. yet tm billed me as there were calls made fr my house. i told that that house vacant how come got calls. the guy said they will look into it. to make long story short, they ask their lawyer to chase me for the unpaid bills. till today i refused to pay. how can they bill me when i already notify them and how come got calls coming out of an empty house? i think they curi my lines and make calls.

try this if you live in kl:
not pay for your phone line and when its been suspended you would hear
"telephony servis anda digantung buat sementara, sila dial 03-xxxxxx"

try dialing the number and you would hear
"nombor yang anda dial, tiada dalam perkhidmatan"

Maybe i won't be so frust (but still very frust) if they just quietly provide their internet service. But they boast to be Malaysia's No. 1 and the BEST BROADBAND EXPERIENCE... makes me say Niamah CCB to them every second i'm using STreamyx.

What never failed to amaze me is all g'men departments, g'men entities are the same.

Imagine this....I supposed to collect my child's kid card at JPN (Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara, BM) on the 10th Dec but I went today 17 Dec. And one young lady was was there to provide me the service and she checked my kid card number in her computer.

To my horror, she immediately wrote down the jabatan's phone number and asked me to call back WITHIN 2 WEEKS if it should be ready by then!

Inside me was one fuming "animal" waiting to pounce on her but....what would I get if.... So I just kept quiet and left the building.

FUCK the government of the day. What KPI they are talking about???

Ah, TM Berhad.Or as I lovingly refer it to as Tidak Mungkin Berhad.After working there for 1 year plus, I rather live on a deserted island and congregate with monkeys than being absolutely dumbstruck with the constant crap of my internet connection and strange call charges.Amen to that.
