monsterball said...

She say it so that 2010 less tourists come....blame it on the others la.
Anyway..after 13th GE...she can be a tourist herself permanently.

Anonymous said...

Aiyah, this is so elementary my dear Patrick. 1Malaysia's tourism minister wants to protect her cabinet position so she has to come out fast with the excuse aka press statement that the drop in tourist numbers not due to her sleeping on her job but due to some ignorant lackeys bombing the churches mah.

When churches around the country are being torched, 1Malaysia's tourism minister is more concerned about the effect on tourism. Niamah, if she has any human decency she should be more concerned about what role she can play in contributing towards a solution to this insanity.

Truly 1Malaysia, truly NIAMAH!!!!

Penyu said...

Nobody would blame her if she choose to keep quiet.

You're right. Any school kid would be able to make such statement. As a minister, you should tell us your action plan, not just state the obvious.

She did not deserve the salary.

NYY, when are are a piece of s**t, everything is a toilet to you.

Well, at least she's sticking to her field.

To meet her KPI, she spends RM2 million to have nasi lemak served in London restaurants.

Wonder why she forgot about Bak Kut Teh. Hot Bak Kut Teh will sell well in UK that is freezing cold.
I think IQ a bit lacking in this aspect.

Najib should do what Bapa Malaysia Tunku Abdul Rahman would have done instinctively in such a situation – to convene and preside over an inter-religious roundtable to end the religious dispute over the “Allah” controversy.

Malaysian Maverick: Mahathir Mohamad in Turbulent Times that is being withheld from sale in Malaysia, pending a review by Malaysia's Home Ministry, has sold out in several Singapore bookshops since its launch last month.

Over 600 copies of the 363-page hardcover have flown off the shelves of major bookstores, making it to the best-seller list for some of them.

At Times bookstores, the book has been the chain's second best non-fiction seller since its launch.

Typical classic MCA leadership! This woman don't know what she is talking about most of the time. Remember few years back when she was the Deputy Minister of Finance, she made a statement teaching Malaysian women how to "tie" their husband's heart by dressing sexily and spraying perfume before going to bed! I was wondering what has all these to do with FINANCE!

Anonymous said...

hahahahha.....Ng Yen Yen go and tell Najib lah, "Church attack may hurt tourism" and ask him to stop it !!!!

Yen plays safe (blame game) just in case she can't meet her KPI of number of tourist arrivals.

Typical MCA statement that kindergarten kids also know how to say.

Najib would like us to believe that those acts of arson were spontaneous combustion. What a pathetic attempt at extricating himself from the ugly and dangerous mess he helped create! His performance was more to convince himself, for he could not possibly convince us.

Here he was after pouring the gasoline feigning surprise when someone finally lit a match. It was Najib who only the day before the incident declared that “Muslim groups were free to protest and express their views about the ‘Allah’ issue.” Just in case that message did not register, he added that the authorities would not stop groups from gathering at mosques and protesting there. Najib’s cousin and Home Minister, Hishammuddin, echoed the same sentiments.

Obviously somebody took them at their words. It is truly touching to see these two ministers belatedly becoming so protective of citizens’ rights to protest! The pair obviously do not appreciate the subtle but enormous difference between having those rights and the wisdom to exercise them appropriately.

"Church attacks may hurt tourism"

Such statement said by someone in charge of the tourism industry, hurts Malaysia.

Why all Malaysian politicians like to say something which is very obvious and do nothing?

If you can't improve Malaysian tourism, let it go and let someone else to take up the challenge. Don't simply blame on any current issues.

Niamiahtothefakeos said...

The coming days will demonstrate more clearly the two types: The fakes and the genuines.

The Minister of Tourism has shown her colour.

Someone wisely observes:

The religious wants to own GOD.

But believers know that they belong to God.

The difference is in the quality of living.

One becomes more powerful and controlling; increasing wealthy and domineering.

The other more gentle and just, more compassionate and contributive.

The ALLAH Defenders, which type are you?

The Politicians, which type are you?

Anonymous said...

We also know what!. It is not 'may' but 'will'. unless the tourist want to see fireworks. By the way, is she more concerned about hurting tourism or hurting Malaysian? Isn't it better to keep her mouth shut on occasion like this, when there are more important issues at hand?

Say something more intelligent minister. First you want to increase hotel rates, now you want tourists to come with churches burning. You are a funny minister with wrong priorities. Wake up , woman.

Anonymous said...

That's all she is concerned about? It is definitely going to hurt more than tourism. Have a heart Yen2 it may even hurt your rice bowl. But then again you don't give a damn!

Anonymous said...

sigh..what she said is that "you can go ahead and burn churches, but don't blame me for drop in tourism."

What can you expect from this kind of minister? She doesn't give a damn to the suffer of people. Get lost!!

Anonymous said...

It's better to keep your mouth shout, then to open it and let the whole world know what an idiot you are. My God of course it will.
And just now over 8pm news, H'mudin says situation under control, "TODAY ONLY ONE CURCH GOT BURN". The quality of ministers are astounding. Very soon M'sia will be exporting maids ourself.

Frankly speaking Ng Yen Yen was a intelligent person who became a doctor. But when she joined politics in MCA/UMNO/BN her brains began declining because when you become hypocrite very soon the brain cells die.

So every now and then you get her making remarks incredulously stupid. It's like giving you revelation that saying I am telling you your mother is a woman.

Ng Yen Yen, where were you all this while? Did you warn the PM in advance about the side-effects or consequences of the "Allah" controversy? How come now you are telling us that tourism would be affected? Your party president, OTK, was so silent till after the attackes on churchs happened. You failed to realise what would happen if the "Allah" issues were not handled properly by politicians from UMNO?

What kind of minister are you? People are more worried about loss of lives and properties but you are only worried about tourism. What kind of mentality are you having? Don't pretend lah for goodness sake. Better watch out whether you will still be lucky enough to retain your parliamnetary seat comes the next GE.

Malaysia, Truly Asia? Pthui .....

Did you read about the tourism ministry spending 2 million pounds ie about 10 million ringgit to promote Malaysian food in the UK? It sounds like someone is pocketing the money again. Maybe that's why she is smiling.

The New Economic Policy (NEP) ended in 1990, but overzealous civil servants and politicians continued to impose it. Tun Dr Mahathir had thrown the NEP out when he introduced the National Development Policy (NDP) of 1990 and he sometimes implemented the NEP as if it were part of the NDP.

I thought there is only one Islam? How come Malaysia has got another version of Islam? Who is playing God here? Isn't the current crisis politically-motivated to divert attention from all the corruption?

So which Islam are Malaysian Muslims practising - "apple" Islam or "orange" Islam? Muslims all over the world are okay with non-Muslims using the term 'Allah', except in Malaysia. Maybe it's a Barisan Nasional brand of Islam that we practise. Funny thing is, it's okay to use the term in speech, but not in print. What logic?

This is another nonsensical political gobbledygook from Home Ministry secretary-general Mahmood Adam who suggests that the Islam practised in Malaysia is superior to that of other countries. What a load of rubbish.

Anonymous said...

Fantastic Fancy:

Mahmood Adam (Home Ministry secretary-general) professes to be a Islam expert by proclaiming that Indonesia and the rest of the Islamic countries and Muslim scholars have a different Islamic religious understanding from the home minister.

So, JAIS checking on his Islamic credential? Got cert or not?

He has painted 2 versions of Islam - Apple Islam & Orange Islam.

ktteokt said...

Who started all these different versions of Islam? What was AAB trying to promote those days? What ISLAM HADHARI? Or is it Islam HadMALAM? Or Islam TidakTERHAD? All these are strays from the original Islamic teachings! And the guys here think they are MORE ISLAMIC than the people in the country of origin of the religion!

Aren't we proud of that?? What the Bible says & the teachings from churches "MUST" be doing right...!

What tourism ??

Did not see much tourists around in KL

The figures includes:
1. Legal workers coming back to work
2.Illegal workers coming back
3.Illegal immigrants transit to Australia
4.Chinese ladies for short time stay
5.Transit passengers of Air Asia X
6.singaporean to Johor on daily basis
7.Thai to Bukit Kayu Hitam on daily basis

Do you think we have such large number of tourists - mungkin ada salah or just to impress the Menteri kejaguhan in bringing in no of tourists.
-Jangan Bohong banyak -sikit sikit bohong okay

Hmmm, another case of brain drain, or more correctly, brain (like) drain! The act hurts everything, not just tourism. How the rest of the world view Malaysia now? Are we any different from the countries we used to condemn because their people are violent, terrorist, murderers, arsonist, etc.... We are another kettle - just as BLACK!

Anonymous said...

Hahaha, what else you expect the Tourism Minister would say when something like this happened in 1Malaysia.

Anonymous said...

All component parties' leaders in B-END except those fron UMNO are paid and rewarded to act STUPID.

She is just doing her job...act and say stupid things.

It is not an easy job mind you, it is meant for people with no dignity, no loyalty, no self respect, no shame, no balls (not her of course) etc. In short they are all THRASH.
