Arrested for own safety

Don't worry. It's for your own safety.

Remember that time when our Malaysian police arrested MP Teresa Kok and a newspaper reporter and gave the reason for her arrest as ensuring her safety? The then Minister of Home Affairs, Syed Hamid Albar said of the reporter's arrest that it was......"for her own good as police had received information that her life was under threat". News stories HERE and HERE.

And remember how we protested and ridiculed the police for their action? Well, it would appear that our boys in blue set such a good example that even the Singaporean police force is following their lead. Arresting people for their own safety. And being kiasu Singaporeans they have gone one better I think. They arrested someone for taking photos of the floods in Singapore! Read this.......

......and then call or email or tweet or facebook your Singaporean friends and say to them LOUDLY...

NIAMAH!!!

It figures when you see droves of Singaporeans still migrating to civilized and true democratic western countries even though their own country has attended developed nation status. Some things will never change for the Asian mentality, will it? Things like human rights, just and fair government, abusage of power, respect for human dignity, etc...just too difficult for them to comprehend, isn't it? They may be rich and prosperous but for my money, it would be a shit place to live under oppressive government even if you have all the money in the world! And most of the Asian countries are like that, and that unfortunately includes Singapore and Malaysia. Diu NIAMAH!!!

Oh Patrick..you must have also read about the arrest of the British journalist for a book he has written about the unjust judiciary in Singapore, right? Why do all these Asian governments so afraid of people exposing their dirty linens huh? A shame of themselves? You bet!

Our PDRM wanted to 'copyright' its blue uniform to distinguish itself from others in blue.

My suggestion is for PDRM to wear pink, for the obvious reason.

The Malay Chamber of Commerce (DPMM) demanded today that the Najib administration ensure 30 per cent of government open tenders remain “guaranteed” for Bumiputera businessmen.

In the same spirit, FAM should request FIFA to allow MALAYsia team to play football with their hands in international games agaisnt the higher ranked-opponents.

The Prime Minister and the Cabinet tomorrow must censure Nik Ali for crossing the line as a model civil servant in calling Penang Chief Minister "biadap" at an Umno press conference

In showing disrespect for the Penang Chief Minister, Nik Ali is showing utter contempt for the democratic process, right and decision of the people of Penang to elect the government and Chief Minister of their choice.

I think for MALAY-sia football to be successful in the international arena, FAM should enlist Perkasa to make its infamous noise to FIFA to demand that off-side rule ('curi ayam' rule) is not applicable to the MALAY-sia team against its higher ranked opponents.

Khairy, what say you?

Singapore must now call on the Malaysian experts to adise them to build a SMART tunnel to solve their flood problem in Orchard Road. It is a good chance to get good commission, and you can escalate the cost in no time so typical of malaysian construction style.

If you read the Singapore Straits Times, you may almost never come across any crime report in that island state save those where the criminals are being punished by the courts.

It's like the police down south are netting every criminal.

You got to give it to them!
Even Utusan Malaysia is no way near those damn Singapore papers in engineering news.
