I chose this pix because Najib looks so resolute in his steering of a floundering ship. Or is that a look of "What's for lunch?"

When I read the headline in The Star today I couldn't help feeling that there was a Niamah!!! moment in there. Judge for yourself....

Najib calls on Malaysian companies to be globally competitive

Words of great wisdom from the prime minister? Well....at first it was quite wise la. Then when I read further I realised that it was just political tokkok again la. Najib was lauding the achievements of a ship-building company which he said "had made 'waves' in the international arena on their own without depending on big contracts from the Government."

According to The Star story, "The Prime Minister stressed on the importance of building one's capabilities to be globally competitive as the country strived towards developed status."

PHWAAAAAAAAAAR!!! Damn good, right?

Then he said, "Success cannot be attained if we continue to rely on quota or privileges from the Government."

HUH???

Then what about the NEP the NEM? And what about Perkasa and all the other flers calling for continuance of quotas and special privileges? Oh, that one different issit?

NIAMAH!!!

Itulah PM kita yang bagai ular dua kepala. He wanted to appeal to all parties. Rakyat are now educated and can see through his tokkok.

NEP only produced jaguh kampung and ali-baba contractors and its sub-contractors. Their ship will tenggelam like submarin (& cannot timbul) under the waves.

The more the BeEnd gomen wants to muzzle the freedom of press, the deeper the hole they dig themselves into.

Hello, the rakyat is no longer depending entirely on newspapers or newsletters, we have gone paperless now in the internet lah.

Suara Keadilan (SK) should go all out to expose more of BeEnd's plundering and abuses in the internet where they can't touch SK.

Need to be fair to our PM la. He has more exposure to the national press like The Star so his tokkoking is more visible, itu macam saja. The opposition if ever get into power will continue this saga and they too will tokkok. Tokoking is the job and expertise of all politicians all over the world.

Take it fr me, they are all the same.

How to be competitive internationally when Malaysia has been breeding JELLYFISHES out of the Malays? They have been accorded special status, much similar to the protection order issued by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for endangered species! Can they now compete in the OPEN MARKET infested with SHARKS and other predators????? Who in the name of heaven is going to accord them 30% handicap? Who is giving a damn to their special bumi status?

I cannot decide...

If the Mighty Kapitan of SS Floundering 1Malaysia is still delusional in thinking that his empty [keluaran RM77m APCO punya?] talk is going to fool the rakyat...

Or he is actually totally convinced and wholeheartedly believes that what he said is The Truth which will inspire all Malaysians, drive them on to Awesome Dedicted Maximum Effort which will culminate in Undreamt of Success...

To me, actions speak far louder than whatever glorious words anyone says.

Stop the huge amounts wasted in questionable manner - APCs which cost more than the M1A1 Abrams tank, more and more billions going into the seemingly bottopmless pit in the form of the two submarines, their torpedoes & maintenance, the new Istana which has more than doubled in price, billions here, billions there while trying to convince the people that the GST and cutting of subsidies are needed.

And take steps to reverse the shocking downslide in credibility of the government, the judiciary and the police. Just when is action going to be taken against scum like Nasir? Suara Keadilan kena hantam, but Suara Perkasa? Elek.

If no steps are taken, how to inspire confidence in the rakyat and foreign investors that Malaysis is a good place to work hard for, or invest in? And no amount of big bucks spent on full colour advertisements on the occasion of some award which few have heard of will do anything positive; quite the opposite.

"Globally competitive"? Hah! More like globally laughed at.

Najib's promises on the more inclusive, fair and transparent government under 1Malaysia and NEM are just empty promises and more of a farce to the rakyat.

We are convinced now that it is impossible for the Umno-controlled government to reform.

BN selectively banned Suara Keadilan on the day Suara Perkasa hit the stand.

If the water concession deal is made public then it will show another PKFZ (Port Klang Free Zone) in action. The more such incidents are exposed and dragged on, the more fun we can have at the next general election.

As it is, the government has already offered some sweets by allowing each MP an angpow of RM500,000 for free distribution. If the deal is clean and above board, why would it - and even the audit report - come under OSA (Official Secrets Act).

It clearly indicates the depth of what such 'open tender' would involve - the Black Hole of Calcutta. All the yearning and crying can never solve such issues. And all Malaysians should know what to do as that option is only available once every five years.

WE ARE SHOCKED BY PM ANNOUNCEMENT THAT THE BUMI 30% QUOTA WOULD CONTINUE, BUT WE MUST OBJECT STRONGLY FOR THE SAKE OF OUR COUNTRY, THE POOR AND OUR CHILDREN

The proposal by Najib that the 30% bumiputra corporate equity would be maintained together with the NEM. Surprisingly the astounding marriage of two conflicting policies has not raised much reaction.

Are the people so shocked that they have lost their power of speech or writing at the amazing reversal of Najib’s crusade for reforms when he became Prime Minister, to become also a promoter of cronyism and rent seeking policies.

Reported on Utusan Online on 3 July:

"Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak berkata, kerajaan selepas ini hanya memilih kontraktor-kontraktor Melayu bereputasi tinggi melaksanakan projek-projek yang dirancang bagi mengelakkannya daripada tertangguh."

In other words, he confessed that the governemtn HAS BEEN awarding contracts to lousy malay contractors that caused project delays.

Perhaps OSCAR should introduce a new category for these beings. i'm sure many of our politicians will get nominated. i'm also confident that a handful of them can do Malaysia proud by bringing the "statues" back!!!

Don't forget that we've got good scriptwriters too. The one working hard on the sodomy case II is one fine example.

Ford, Toyota, and Honda have each re-investing and expanding in Rayong, Thailand. More FDIs are coming in by the truck loads into Thailand even with the recent political turmoil. Why so? Simple. Thailand does not have draconians investment laws such as 30% equity etc. There are many investors out there that would think Malaysia is a good place to invest, but is dead against the imposition of this 30% practices. Not unless the person is capable and professional enough to take up the role.
Come one, we can't discard this bumi privileges, but we also cannot just fold our arms and wait for some durian runtuh to drop on our laps, or imposing many measures to squeeze more from the Rakyat.
How to make the country a rich one if there's no FDIs? Almost every businesses done here are paid out by the Government. Without it, this GLCs will collapse, and so are the many Gov.dependant companies out there.
We need to realise this and gradually discard the "demand" from foreign investors. We need FDIs, period. Some bleeding the Rakyat nor intravening them forever. The latter will not grow strong but turn weaker by the minute. Wake up dear PM and all MPs.

£8595

This car will sell for RM 160,000 in KL.
But £1 = RM 4.794
£ 8595 = RM 41,204.
So cheap? Cannot be!

OK. The pound took a dip. Lets use the old old rate of £1= RM 7
Then £ 8595 = RM 60,165
So cheap ? Really ? Why are we Malaysians paying RM 160,000?

The costing is :
Vehicle CIF — RM 60,000
Duty.Taxes/profit — RM 60,000

The other RM 40,000? Goes to the notorious AP.

If I sell 1 AP per month, my income is higher than the monthly salary of a CEO of a listed company. More than 1.5 times the annual salary of a fresh graduate.

If I sell 2 APs per month, I am a millionaire by definition : million dollar income.

Why do you want to go to U, struggle for 3-4 years, and get paid less than what they make with 1-AP?

Now I know why AP is extended again and again, and again …….

My daughter joined the government sponsored internship, and found that she was amongst a handful of non-Malays, non-local graduates in the class. She found out that, although most of them graduated in a smilar field as she, there were many topics/subjects that the locals have not studied whilst in Universities. As a result, these local graduates were at a loss when the lecturers asked them questions. And as the lectures were mainly conducted in English, the local graduates(mainly Malays) felt at a loss. Normally these local graduates would opt to join Government service, where laziness and lack of initiative is normally not frowned upon. A former Government workshop where I once used to work decades ago, now has more than 7 engineers when there was only 1 decades ago. And there was much more work and men then. Now all the work are contracted out, and yet the engineering staff has increased 7-fold. Looks like all local Malay graduates can only find jobs in Government service, never mind if they are sent there only to laze around. Yes, UMNO is killing off the Malay race by making them uncompetitive, and unwanted in the private sector.

The Home Ministry is staging a 'sandiwara' in investigating Suara Perkasa. This ministry does the bidding of Umno to issue a publication licence for Perkasa to spread racism and hatred. Umno plays its race card, relying on its mouthpiece, Utusan Malaysia, and now augmented by Suara Perkasa, to stoke racial tension and rally the Malays to back Umno.

The government pretends to act against Suara Perkasa for calling for the arrest of Wee Ka Siong under the ISA and let the tabloid off scot free, while it suspends the renewal of Suara Keadilan's printing licence for questioning the government.

Umno is a sinister Jekyll and Hyde organisation, inciting the Malays to hatred while pretending to call for multiracial unity.

I say can. Let's substitute ALL our govt schools with Singaporean standard schools, and sack all lazy and stupid teachers. Only professionals need to apply.

It is not the problem of Chinese or Tamil schools. However what std is recognised internationally? Not the sekolah kebangsaan but the Chinese school system (horrors!) And that does not go too well with the inferior race who calls others pendatang.
