Whose costume are you wearing?

Take a look at what our current Ms. Malaysia/Universe is wearing for the national costume parade in the pagaent in Las Vegas. Which country is she representing? I don't know.

According to this Star report her costume was inspired by legendary Kelantanese princess Cik Siti Wan Kembang. It is believed that during her reign, the state was so prosperous that foreign merchants intentionally destroyed their vessels upon arrival so they had an excuse to stay on.

Really? For more of this cock-eyed reasoning go HERE.

Patrick,

Aiyah so simple lah. This is the new 1Malaysia national costume, inspired by the First Fat Lady's recent visit to the USA. The headgear looks similar to the crown on the Statue of Liberty to gain some extra brownie points with the US audiences mah. As for the layers and layers of ill fitting golden drapes, I am lost for words.

looks like some new age minangkabau?

Oh Bro Pat

Are your eyes smarting and out of focus ? Queer designs do come out of malingsia. For a moment I thought I was seeing some reincarnation of some Aztec sacrifice !

This unislamic attire should sent the mullahs screaming for blood. Abraham Ali would be demanding a Malay representative while mahati would want a mamak. Where is the tudong ? Where is the burqa the canvas prison ? Where is the moral police ? This piece of apparel is not the national costume of malaysia. It is too revealing and lacking modesty and too provocative for the likes of Bonk Riding, shariah judges, mullahs and ayatollahs. They might lose control of their sex urges on seeing it.

Ah Malaysia, this drapery is only fit for a silly kambing from Kelantan, not a demure pious representative from Malaysia.

Another "legend has it" again. When I was a young pup reading those history books that I was made to read, I often wondered, if Melaka was so prosperous and great, why had it fallen to the hands of others? Reality is still reality... our leaders and politicians have to stop playing political tricks and start learning the reality.

completely fucked up management I'd say of our beloved country.

This is hot and spicy like Tom Yum to me. Once again, Thai beaten 1Malaysia twice in a week, coroner court and costume parade.

I think it's Japanese influenced. Don't you think her post looks like Ultraman when fighting with Raksasa?

WELL.... A PAST HISTORY JUST, I MEAN JUST CREATED........ YESTERDAY...... FAIRY TALES.....

Well, i beg to differ.

I think the people behind this piece of costume have done a pretty brilliant job.

They've managed to capture the very essence of Malaysia. They're portraying to the whole wide world what Malaysia is all about now ... pening, sakit kepala, muntah darah, kucar-kacir, bingung, etc...

DJ Jamaluddin Ibrahim of 988 got fired for causing racial tension. God knows the truth. He may really have said something that justifies his firing or someone is either daydreaming and decided to fire him. Anyway, were his remarks as bad as some articles we read in 'Utusan Malaysia' or heard from Perkasa?

We have heard worst from the latter and we can live with that. So let there be some freedom of speech.

Hey Patrick, this is Malaysia you know lah. Semua boleh. That's a good reason for spending millions on Toyol and his maid to Disneyland. To create more fantasies.

Muhyiddin took almost one week to initiate a probe against the racist principal, while those Umno goons reacted in less than 24 hours after the 'Lim Guan Eng sermon' bluff spread like wildfire, thanks to Utusan Malaysia.

This is another classic example of BN's selective prosecution.

Someone in Singapore told me that you turned down the offer to be in the mediaCorp drama 'Silver lining' because your asking price is too high. Is this true?

the role eventually went to the Hong Kong guy.

UMNO has stooped so low to tell lies in Ramadhan month. Umno's Friday sermon claims are all 'lies and slander'.

PAS has expressed its total support for the DAP in refuting recent allegations that Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's name was being used in place of the Agong's in the state's Friday sermons.

This costume to me has more Thai essence than Malaysia,so I feel is not reprensatative.A more appropriate one should be the mix of baju kurung/cheongsam/sari which is 1Malaysia mah! NIAMAH!

Oi where is the fat, fat, short, short cutie? Why isn't he screaming on top of his voice? Why isn't any polisi report made because as a Kelantanese he knows better than others. Maybe screaming on this issue won't gain any political milage. 5 seconds explosion after that limp for the whole day. Nia shortie betul.

Utusan Malaysia should retract an editorial it had carried last week over the possibility of a 'major' war and apologise for trying to provoke and pit non-Malays against Malays.

Hahahaha. No Eric. It is not true. It didn't get that far to talk about fees. Richard Ng from Hong Kong is a star. I am just a working actor. How can I command fees higher than a star?

CAN'T WE LIVE WITHOUT PINTU GERBANG?

IMAGINE WHAT WE COULD DO TO THE HA

She should be wearing a baju Melayu or Kebaya at least because these are official costumes of Malaysia. If some big boss allows her this sort of fashion, that means any fashion can do in all government departments. Malaysians always love to show show in front of great people but dare not to show real stuff.

It was claimed by UMNO's Utusan that a war that would dwarf the May 13, 1969 riots "is imminent if the government does nothing to curb racial tension caused by those who continue to stoke racial fires".

Read between the lines again, especially the part where it says "if the government does nothing to curb racial tensions". It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out the motives of Utusan Malaysia, and that is to prompt Umno to invoke the ISA on the opposition.

So what sort of Merdeka Day are we expecting? Your guess is as good as mine.

People don't trust the government anymore because they blatantly let Utusan/BN-owned media to get away with lies, slander and sedition, while all other non-BN-owned media are persecuted at the slightest drop of the hat.

Thanks to the Internet, the common people can tell that these lies and slanders are propagated by Umno/BN to cause racial tensions so that they can stay relevant. Now, the reverse effect is happening.

The more they lie, slander and incite racial unrest, the more people will reject them. They may still have their hooks on the older generations, but the younger voters will reject them. Perkasa and Utusan will speed up their demise.

How low would Umno and Utusan Malaysia go in order to create a 'sandiwara' to topple the legitimate Penang government since they find it difficult to buy Pakatan candidates to become BN-friendly assembly persons? Create a drama to disparage the Pakatan government.

Now we have PM Najib Razak's 'Selamatkan Khazanah Selangor' campaign. The Selangor government is being destabilised on a daily basis by Umno by bringing up trivial matters such as the sponsor letter issue, as if this is uncommon in Umno.

The headgear looks more like my younger sis' new " Bart Simpson's " hairdo and the oversize dress looks more or less like cut n paste job worn by a pint size girl.

As we are approaching Aug 31 celebration, there is a sickness in the country as illustrated by several headlines in a matter of a few hours by online media Malaysian Insider yesterday, viz:

•“Perkasa, MPM want Soi Lek arrested under ISA”

•“Pakatan wants to ‘destroy’ constitutional monarchy, claim Malay groups” (a lie)

•“Ibrahim Ali follows Tee, tells those who disagree to get out”

•“Malay groups want vernacular schools abolished”

Imagine what foreign investors would think of Malaysia with such headlines daily. BN is screwing itself...

Most of the people are very sick and tired of those few idiots trying to create trouble. Looking for cheap publicity. Just send them to Kamunting 5 star hotel with free makan that's it. Alternatively just don't publish any of their hoo haa than our beloved country will be a wonderful place in the world. Those days god is free from any trouble. Nowadays even my god also have to be drag into politics. What an era!!!! Anybody got Panadol eh??
