Please lend a hand

Today I'd like to tell you about a courageous young lady. Chetz is the founder of CEKAP (Citizens Empowering K9 And People). In her own words "I love dogs and I'm always learning to give my dogs a happier, healthier and longer life."

Read about Chetz' plans for her canine charges and how you can help here.

Go. Help out a brave young lady doing a great deed. Thank you.

Pat,
I came across this 'fella' while doing the Ketam Dogs Rescue last year.
I did not follow further because I smelled a 'rat' somewhere.

I may not be wrong because many others felt da same.

Cheers

The 1.4 trillion ringgit Economy Transformation Plan (ETP) unveiled by the Prime Minister, Najib Tun Razak is as good as the pie in the sky. With the National debt nearly hit RM400 billions and a consecutive 15 years of National Budget deficit, to rely on BN Government to implement the plan is most unreliable and unrealistic.

The people must aware that 60% of the ETP rely heavily on Foreign Direct Investment(FDI), which means that Malaysia must attract RM840 billion FDI in the next 10 years, an annual target of RM84 billion for 10 consecutive year. Bare in mind that FDI flowed into Malaysia in 2009 is only RM4.4 billions. Does anyone with the right mindset could expect the FDI to be increased 20 folds every year compare to 2009? Plucking the figure from the air, perhaps this is what the “1 Malaysia” Government is doing now.

@Birds Talking Too,

FYI, I never involved with the dogs in Pulau Ketam. I've never even been to that area.

So, I don't know who's the "fella" you came across.

Please note that CEKAP is renting a place at Furry Friends Farm and we are not a shelter.

My mission is to educate people since very little people here in Malaysia is educated.

It also seems that some Malaysians might need glasses so they can see better. Maybe I should also give out glasses at my centre because if people can't see clearly, they can't do things right also.

NOTE: What others say is not always the truth.

Thank You Patrick for helping spread the words, I'm very grateful to you. I got a few sms and comments offering to help out already.

Appreciate it.

Chetz Yusof

Hi Patrick...

I was at Pulau Ketam throughout the entire duration of the rescue. I must say,I haven't met Chetz before until I saw this posting. But I do know that she trains dogs and can correct certain behaviours because I was looking for someone to help me with my dogs. I just thought I should speak up since I was there after all. There were many residents of Pulau Ketam who were unhappy that we were rescuing the dogs. But someone has to do something right? All talk and no action isn't the way to go. If a person has nothing nice to say about someone's effort, don't jump into conclusions and assume.

Hello Donald! (Birds Talking Too)
I remember u. U are one of the blogs i followed during Pulau Ketam dogs rescue mission. Other than yours, i followed TVsmith, petfinder, lowyat forum and some other blogs too, to know updates about the mission. But i also stopped following up bcoz i hate seeing people fighting and arguing in the forum.

But i cant get what u meant by 'rat'. I also cant remember if i saw Chetz Yusof taking part in the mission as she is busy with the dogs training and busy taking care of her 12 dogs. Could u explain pls if she had things to do with the Pulau Ketam Missions??

Anonymous#2 (errr u dont have name?)

I disagree with u. Yes, there are hundreds & thousands of poor & homeless PEOPLE begging or in need of help all over the towns & cities in Malaysia. And i believe there are also a lot of people out there willing to help them. Bersamamu TV3, Aduan Rakyat, etc etc etc.

Btw, what did u do to help them? Feed them? Donate to the beggars? Give them cloth and home? Calling Jabatan Kesihatan and let them taking care of these poor and homeless people needs? Or 'help' to watch their suffers?

I rather help animals instead of people. Bcoz i know, not much people willing to help these animals. They think animals' life are not worth.

U are free to help other people out there if u think helping animal are worthless. But pls dont stop others to do things u cant do.

Dear Fluffies and all,

No, Chetz was not involved in the rescue directly and have not been to the site like we did.
At that time, many volunteers and orgs. came to help. As we know, many kind foreign people from overseas started getting worried and even pledged donations. Many have sent money. Being only a handful of blogs available on this issue, Rescue groups received the donations. Co-incidentially there are some other casual blogs also writing on the Ketam Incident, also received cash. I am not saying Chetz did it as others have.
But if Chetz wants to continue training for a small fee, and help to rescue strays, then, we wish her all the best.

Don't the police have a mind of their own? Do they have to investigate every police report, especially those made against the opposition?

If that is the case, how come we don't hear of instances whereby the police jump into action to investigate and grill members of the ruling parties and rowdy NGOs like Perkasa, against whom there have been many police reports made?

The police may claim to be doing their job to investigate a report made, but the rakyat doesn't see it that way - we see it clearly as a case of selective persecution. More so, it involves a fine daughter of the BN government's greatest nemesis, Anwar Ibrahim.

Similarly, Raja Azman, a son of Raja Petra Kamaruddin has just been acquitted of two charges of theft and breaking an entering as the prosecution failed to prove a prima facie case against him - meaning not enough evidence.

This makes us believe that the attorney-general and the police are only more interested to serve their political masters - to harass their opponents.

@ Donald,
There must be some misunderstanding i think.. hmmm

Anonymous,

Pat,

We all know n have been taught that dogs have a life span of about 10 years... but there are some dogs that have been reported to live up to 20 years. We dont know how many other 20 year old dogs that went unreported. When asked, the owners attributed their dogs' long life to good diet.

FYI: the oldest dog died somewhere in 2005 or 2006 (cant remember) at the age of 27!

Talking Birds/Donald,

What man you. If you are now saying that Chetz wasn't there, the why did you say, "I came across this 'fella' while doing the Ketam Dogs Rescue last year.". Next time think before you write, You write irresponsibly and can ruin people's reputation. be sure before you accuse. Never say sorry some more.

Is this the same Najib who tried and is trying to ban the use of the word 'Allah' by Christians in Malaysia when leading Islamic scholars internationally have defended the Christian use of 'Allah'.

Is this the same Najib that instigated Malay Muslims to protest openly against the court's decision to allow the use of 'Allah' by Christians leading to the burning of churches? Is this the same Najib, who as the leader of a party called Umno, openly practises racial and religious discrimination?

Is this the same Najib who uses Islam indiscriminately for political mileage? Seriously, is this the same Najib who wants to help Obama tackle Islamophobia in US?

Everyone knows that every word and every promise made by BN leaders are lies and blatant lies that will never be fulfilled till the end. All sorts of gimmicks are laid out before the public daily expecting the public to be naive fools to swallow hook, line and sinker the rubbish that is spewed out.

The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) must be feeling that it is carrying out a great James Bond job. With 'Tilam' Musa Hassan gone, things hopefully would have changed. But what can one do? The evil is already fully entrenched in the very soul of both PDRM and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

If you listen to that dog food seller...all dog owners on the world should stop buying dog food of all brands and buy his only.
If that wise guy is so sure ....he should make law suits against all dog food manufacturers to prove his points.
Yes Pat...to me..this is humbug and full of shit.

It is a shame that many Malaysians cannot speak Malay. But then again, it's not too bad as there is no Malaysian language, only the Malay language, as the Malays seem to refuse to elevate their language to 'Bahasa Malaysia' and instead insisting that it should be known as 'Bahasa Melayu'.
