The Wisdom of Bapa Malaysia

Tunku Abdul Rahman
1st Prime Minister of Malaysia

"In my time we had a Cabinet of 13 ministers. Even then they didn't have enough work. What they do now with 45, I don't know" - Tunku Abdul Rahman, 1983

"In the old days people never bothered about what others did, so long as they were free to do what they liked themselves. Today, one cannot sneeze without being corrected, let alone enjoy oneself. That's what politics have done to our society" - Tunku Abdul Rahman , 1975

Ahhhh...the good old days.

Only in Malaysia you will find Valentine's Day being linked to zina and abandoned babies, no thanks to those over-zealous Jakim flers and that lady TV preacher.

Only in Malaysia you will be told that the police chief is more powerful than the Prime Minister.

Only in Malaysia you will find the local comedy show so boring that you have to fork out RM38 for a book by a retired DJ for a good laugh.

These are the days we are in. Truly Niamah!

To PAS Youth, instead of conducting “immorality checks” on V’s Day in opposition-ruled states, why not take a break from politics and be romantic enough to spend precious time with your beloved under the moon, always conscious that God is watching you from a distance!

To the Muslims who really want to celebrate V’s Day but cannot as a result of the recent ban, please do not be angry but in keeping with the spirit of the day, send a rose to Siti, Jawi, Jais and Jakim – unless the rose is deemed by them as a Christian flower used to se

Hi, I'm a Malay Muslim Malaysian currently living abroad (not for long though) and throughout my years here, I've seen Muslims celebrating V-Day alongside the Christians, Buddhist, Hindus, free-thinker etc. Seriously, I think all the hoohaas about V-Day among Malaysian Muslims are due to the wrong perception. For once, V-Day got nothing to do with any religious affair of any kind! V-Day is a cultural event, no different from Mother's Day, Labour Day, Father's Day etc.. Why? Because the true meaning of V-Day is to take a time out from our hectic life schedule, so that we can spend time with our loved ones, I repeat LOVED ones, like parents, siblings, kids, wife, partners, bf/gf. Having dinners, exchanging gives, sending cards.. what is so morally wrong about that? Frankly, when was the last time we told our parents, siblings, families that we love them?

I admit, that before this, I myself thought that V-Day are just for couples in love.. maybe due to the Malay translation of Hari Memperingati Kekasih (LOL).. so that people think that it's only for couples having pre-marital sex blah blah. Come onnnn... if they really wanna party like hell and have pre-marital sex like there's no tomorrow, they don't have to wait for Feb 14th.. If that's what the interpretation of V-Day, then you can just go to any bawah jambatan, toilet sekolah, kebun getah, roof top parking lots, rumah sewa rempits and find those teenagers enjoying their daily doses of 'that' version of V-Day. Sheesh..

And to blame other religions for our own weakness of faith to our own religion is soooo not cool.. it's like giving excuse for not fasting due to non-muslims having lunch in public.. People like this gave bad impression on Islam.. sheesh again.

(By the way, regarding the billions of dollar went missing, it seems that according to these "people", bribery and corruption is ok, but expressing love to family members is not!)

NEM is simply an extension to NEP.
Old wine in new bottle, as Perkasa has been able to control Najib.

The “shift in emphasis” away from the New Economic Model’s (NEM) initial focus on productivity and meritocracy to Bumiputera interests will leave Malaysia’s foreign direct investments (FDI) trailing behind regional rivals.

The formation of the Unit Peneraju Agenda Bumiputera (Teraju) “diluted” the NEM and would likely send the wrong message to foreign investors who had been hopeful of reform.

Pat,

Yup the good old days when Malaysians had common sense and were race and religion blind.

Now we have racist bigots, ketuanan ultra nationalists and religious extremists in the UMNO led government which explains why the cabinet had increased 4 fold since the good TAR days.

Yup, after GE13 which the UMNO led government will again win with their dirty tricks, we will even have more tiga suku and half past dead ministers and deputy ministers filling up the cabinets - courtesy of the current 6th PM and his equally moronic DPM.

If TAR was still the PM, M'sia would have attained her high-income status years ago and not until this morning. This morning I read the cost of Bro Pat's book is $27US or RM38. So one US dollar is worth only about RM1.50. So who says M'sia is not catching up with S'pore ?

Thanks bro Pat, you have done much more for M'sia than all the glorified peons put together.

When will RM reach parity with US dollar ?

The hearts of non-Malays are ‘suci’ ( pure ). Although we do not pray five times daily like some UNMOB hypocrites ( even their leader wants to soak his keris in Chinese blood! ) we SINCERELY believe that the needy, irrespective of their race or religion, should be given assistance. But what we strongly oppose is that the super rich hypocrites in UNMOB are helping themselves to the national wealth instead of helping the poor. So now we see a big nunber of BACKWARD Malays who have been fooled for the past five decades and made used of by minority UNMOB Malays to ADVANCE themselves.

Which malay leader will dare to give an interview while holding a glass of whiskey and with a pack of cigarettes on the table.
Even the royals don't have the nuts to do so while in public.

It was a blessing in disguise when he made a wise decision during his time.Telling Lee KY to go is the best thing he did.
As without the Singapore of today , Malaysia will be far worse off.

Through 3 generations, we have come to accept that we are all Malaysian citizens, and everyone is equal to everyone, and now we find out that we indeed do have Special Rights accorded only to us, and not to the others. We must also fight for our Rights and not let the other community take it away from us. But what are these Rights??? If we had Special Rights, why are the Malays still lagging behind? Did anybody actually accord the Malays these Rights in the past? Did the Malays reject these Rights, so much so that they are now living in utter poverty? Can someone start going around and bestow this Rights upon us right now? When are we going to get these Rights? As far as we know, we never had any Rights! Only the Chinese and Indians think we have Special Rights.

Most Malays don’t give two hoots about Tanah Melayu, Ketuanan Melayu or Special Rights, because they does not exist. We also got bored waiting for these rights to be transferred to us. We just want a decent life, job, a brighter, predictable future. And the Right to practice our Religion free from encumbrance.

We are a loosely knitted race that comprises mixed Javanese, Sumatran, Indian, Hainanese, Thai, and Middle East blood bound together by our Religion, Islam. And yet in the INTERLOK novel we branded other communities as pariahs. In another case, we allowed a full blooded mamak from Penang to call Non-Malays pendatangs.

And if there is a Special Right, I think I would want to have the Right to mingle freely with our Chinese and Indian friends, step into a church and listen with interest to their choirs singing Christmas Carols, drop by a Chinese temple, and observe the monks chanting their mantras, or to an Indian Temple to see how they worship. And to drop by the Pub, for a glass of cold Coke, or orange juice without feeling a little peculiar. I want the right to tell all our fellow citizens that we do not harbour any ill will against them, that we are just like them and that we will always stand by them.

22 years in power, and yet so many of our kin still live in misery. We are not asking for utter riches, just a decent life, but many Malays still lives in utter misery, and in such contrast to the Super rich UMNOPutras. And in the last election, many Malays were abandoning BN in droves, and now the ruling elite are not confident any more of retaining their power and has started to take drastic measures to regain their support.

Lastly, keep this in mind. There is no racism in Malaysia. 99 percent of Malaysians are not racist. We are too busy living our lives than to check on our neighbours. It is the one percent who is desperately clinging on to power, bent on staying, and who will do anything at any cost, even selling their souls to the devil, that is causing all this ruckus about Racism in this country. The one percent of Malays, Chinese and Indians who are about to be given the boot are shouting Ketuanan Melayu and Ketuanan What not!!

Malays, in their right mind are not going to support this bunch of losers. That is why they say that the Malays are split between UMNO and PAS. And the blame was put on poor old Nik Aziz, who became the scapegoat for splitting the Malays. BN and Umno really must go!
