Same old Same old

Even Najib finds the AG's Report hilarious.
Maybe we should do like Najib and read the AG's Report upside down to make some sense of it.

It must be frustrating being the Auditor-General of Malaysia. Every year you're required to roll out the same old production. Which is to highlight the excesses and obvious inefficiencies of government ministries, departments and agencies. Frustrating because you, and every Malaysian, knows that nothing will be done to correct the mistakes and that next year you will be required to do the same old thing again.  As a Malaysian I'd rather have the A-G tell us about what has been done about the previous year's fuck-ups instead of just revealing more cock-and-bull. Otherwise, what is the point? We already know that there is corruption in the system and high-level inefficiencies. But what is being done about it?

This years 'revelations' include a failed cattle-rearing project which involves a company run by the family of a working minister in the current administration. In another country perhaps, this alone would cause a furore by tax-paying citizens. But this is Malaysia. And it is just another chapter in the latest Auditor-General's report.

The AG also revealed that 9 ministries had overspent their allocated budgets by RM3.73 billion!!! That is a lot of money. If it was not in the budget where did it come from? This is just from the latest AG's report so don't expect any answers okay?

The AG also discovered that a MARA subsidiary bought equipment at highly inflated prices. Like paying RM1600 for each high-speed sewing machines and ovens only to discover they cannot be used because the area they were to be used in had no electricity!

And the feisty Ng Yen Yen's ministry of tourism reportedly spent a million + to buy some brochure/pamphlet display racks!!!

Then as if to divert attention to all this bureaucratic excesses and fuck-ups PAS decides to announce that the planned Elton John concert in Genting Highlands "would have a negative effect on the younger generation..." and therefore should not be allowed to proceed. Elton John is gay you see. Thanks PAS you guys are sure doing the cause a BIG favour.

So, depending on how you feel at the time the annual Auditor-General's Report can either make you laugh until your sides ache. Or it can make you scream with frustration and want to go out and kill yourself a politician or a government bureaucrat. But like every year, things will quieten down after a couple of days. And we will go back to being blissfully about what happens to our money and our country. Same old, same old la. Tiu!!!

NIAMAH!!!

C'Mon Niamah - You always look on the dark side of things, even when the light is shining straight onto your dick.

Haven't you realized the good part of the AG's report, is that the reporters are all independent and do not fear repercussions.

Isn't that such a big thing in Malaysia.

Year in, year out, same old things reported but no investigations into them and the culprits go scot-free and braver year after after. That's why the country's deficit is getting bigger and bigger. In time to come, another "Greece" in the making.....

For your benefit sjoseph@bigfoot.com

"Niamah" means "Your mother" and often used in the Cantonese context to describe one's mother in very flowery terms.

ie niamah chow kai - translation - ur mader's smelly chicken (ahem).

You should address gentleman in question as "Patrick Teoh" or simply "Patrick", would suffice.

A little bit of history sjoseph, the name Patrick Teoh might not mean anything to you but let me assure you he was a giant on the airwaves mid 80's, the pioneer "shock jock" who could put Howard Stern to shame.

The music was good and the commentary great - so much so - government began to take notice.

If only more had listened more closely to Patrick, fair to say we wouldn't have half the problems we have today.

Are we allowed to drag the fella who paid RM56 000 for a pair of binoculars which cost less than RM2000? I would like to hang him in the public square!

I think sjoseph@bigfoot.com didn't visit the right website to read all the wah-so-good 1Msia news. niamah.com is for niamah news. I think sjoseph@bigfoot.com should just read thestar.com.my or nst.com.my. I know abstract concepts are hard for lowly creatures, but the man behind niamah.com is Patrick and not niamah.

Niamah hai sjoseph@bigfoot.com!

Hold on Greece, we'll trying our best to catch up & overtake u.

No wonder UMNO rejects hudud - it will make the Malaysia government the only one in the world with 100% amputees. Even 10 pairs of legs & hands per minister wouldn't be enough.

Germany has the Oktoberfest with beers & cheers; Malaysia has the annual OktoberRage with jeers & outrages after every AG'S Report. Do vote UMNO back into a strong two-third majority for even more outrageous wastage.

p.s. can u imagine how bad the 2011 AG's Report will be, given that they're trying their best to siphon off more for their own future generation's use?

Mak kau!

Pat,

Maybe it's called leadership by example?

Havent you heard about the submarine that cant sink, ship vessel that cant float (or operate), satelite that cant focus, brand new spanking stadium that cant stand, Plane's engine that "flew off" on its own, and everything else that needs repair immediately after you overpaid 5 to 10 times market price, and then with a "maintenance" or "commission" clause to train or maintain that piece of junk.

The thing is I probably wont even trust the "maintenance" company to get my light bulb changed.

And it goes on and on like nobody even noticed.

How come it's tolerated by the "morally high" and "untuk bangsa, agama dan negara" top leadership?

The thing that baffles me even more is the fact that it's even tolerated by the voting masses and tax payers. As long as you shout the "1malaysia" or other catchy phrases coined by some consultant, they will forget everything, or why they even vote.

This world, macam-macam ada.

Casper - I used to listen to Patrick Teoh in the mid 70's during my stint as a CT in northern Perak. I had a hand held transistor radio and Patrick Teoh played some good music then. On one of his shows, there was some kind of competition and my sister (who lived in one of the towns; B Serai) won a Billy Preston vinyl, which she still keeps. So I am quite aware of who he is.

Niamah on the other hand could be an asshole. I dont really know him nor do I care to really know him.

I almost puke watching how Buletin Utama shamelessly blasted Penang, Kelantan and Selangor for inefficiency in handling its finance and economy based on the Auditor-General Report 2011. Are they reading the same report or they just pick and choose what to highlight? Pure bollocks! Everyone knows how BN-controlled States spent and splurged until their deficit surges skyhigh, probably trying to compete with US financial crisis in terms of who is better and faster at killing off their own economy. But as usual, nothing was mentioned in the mainstream media. NOTHING.

In every project by UMNO b govt….so many want commissions.

Ordinary folks are grateful to see so much developments in their cities….towns and villages but were ignorant over the massive corruptions in the past.

Not now…they are getting to know all the tricks and treats the Govt applied to feed their chosen ones to stay faithful to UMNO b always.

Mahathir uses billions to buy votes and loyalties in his 22 years..and enriches his sons too.

Muslims are divided to be the “have not” and the “haves” by Mahathir.

And now….they will make sure Malays stays backward in education while these crooks sent their children overseas to study in the English language.

The AG reported was only a tip in the iceberg, as the audit is just a sampling. The other cases were concealed from the public. That was why the AG took so long to present the report.

Najib should take note that the rakyat still have the ballot paper in their hands and it will be put to good use during GE13.

The only way to save our nation from the fate of Greece is to vote out a corrupted government.

Auditor General report highlights 2 things - the mega failures of most projects initiated and managed by BN and at the same time bringing out successes achieved by state governments run by PR which will never be published in the media, obviously for good reason.

We don't need to be educated to know BN SERIOUSLY lacks financial competence (cant say much about corruption though) in managing projects. Either they end up in complete failures or the budget will increase many times over. Cannot imagine what uneducated people can get for RM100.00 in open market, but under BN tendering system this pitiful government has to pay RM1000.00!! Isn't that not a sign of sheer incompetence bordering on STUPIDITY

But that RM1000 is unfortunately part of the hard earned income tax that Govn't forced me to pay.

If BN cannot manage things even at project level, what hope we have in them running and managing the nation.

But reading AG report on Penang and Selangor in particular, the 2 states have done EXTREMELY WELL compared to their BN predecessors as well as other BN run states.

And not only they score huge success, they did it in just THREE (3) years. Even Kedah is doing well and so is Kelantan. If only Kelantan is given its rightful % of oil revenue Kelantan would have done better.

So BN......what do you all have to say to what AG is showing the world?

It looks like the BN states are run by Primary Educated Ministers and PR states are run by truly well EDUCATED people. What a shame?

Next election....pick your choice....
