Here we go again!

I promise you it will be English...errr...I mean Malay...errr...I mean...errr...have I had my nap today?

We used to be educated in English but Bahasa Malaysia was a compulsory pass (a credit actually) in order to receive a full Form 5 certificate. Then some morons decided that it was best to dismantle the system in the name of national pride and what not. Bahasa Kebangsaan/Melayu/Malaysia became the language of education. And English became not even a compulsory pass subject.

And now...Muhyiddin Yassin announces that English will become a compulsory pass subject as early as 2016. Wow! Really? Why?

The minister in charge of education said it was because "...many people, including parents, are supportive of the proposal."

Wah!!! Good la, Muhyiddin. Thank you for opening our eyes. But what is the main reason why the Education Ministry is having this change of heart about English? Muhyiddin said,

"Since English is widely used internationally, we have little choice but to encourage our children to be proficient."

Phwaaar!!! No shit, Sherlock!!!

NIAMAH!!!

Like all other policies realted to the language issue this is another right decision impllemented for the wrong reason. In Tamilnadu the politicians were pushing for Tamil in the mistaken belief that it will lwvwl the playing field for the Tamils. But today they have found out that without english y0ou will get instructions such as, " Please do not lost this book", by a leading Asian car manufacturer.

Hahahahahah!!!

I don't think Muhyiddin needs worry about this compulsory pass in English cos he won't be the Minister for Education after GE13.

First of all, I don't think we should make English a compulsory pass. Sure, English is important, that is why we need to have better teaching. However, how does making the subject a "compulsory pass" serve the interest of Malaysian students, if the teaching quality and methods remain the same?

Education should be empowering, withholding a certificate for the failure in one subject serves no rational goal but to further marginalize students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Wow, finally the present cocky UMNO/BN leaders realised that other world leaders do not seem to understand their English language. No wonder, UMNO/BN locally owned or controlled mainstream medias always have problems understanding and translating the correct versions of these leaders' speeches or statements into the English or Bahasa Melayu language! Now we know why some of the world news agencies reported one version of a Malaysia news while the local mainstream medias published a different version! Now, the DPM had cleared up the issue. It was never the journalists problem, always been a leadership problem. Good, one up for UMNO/BN leaders, correcting past mistakes. For starters, these leaders should form a task force to retrain their paid or controlled journalists especially those in Bernama in English language. No need to sack anyone in Bernama, just retrain the whole lot LOCALLY. No need to recruit from India lah, there are plenty of retired but excellent English language teachers around the country. All that is needed from UMNO/BN leaders is, open up your eyes, forget the pride and prejudice that have been covering up your shortsightness and do it!

Salleh Yaakop the DJ/comedian said he would retire by year end.

Surely he made lots of money from the lonkang bankang project to support his four wives.

Selling is soul to umno is despicable indeed.

I dread to think that this "thing" might become Malaysia's next PM. It sends shivers down my spine as to what will become of our country. Please, please, please Malaysian's, let's vote BeNd out this time around. I would really love to see these BeNd buggers running helter skelter to wherever their ill gotten money is stored.

The NGOs will have to move in now to provide English classes for our kids NOW. They can use church halls, temples, gurudwaras, clan associations and sports clubs for their classes. But it must be done now so our kids can pass when passing English becomes compulsory. We have a large number of retired English teachers who knowledge and skills must be harnessed to this end. Perhaps they can also teach some maths and science. No harm in asking the retired teachers for help.

Otherwise only kids whose parents have money to pay private private tuition will have any chance. The poor, especially poor Malays, poor Chinese and poor Indians will all miss out.

Some commentator including the bigot think pr can even solve this. This is a bodoh niamah stand as pr themselves want to revert to BM. They can't put a stand pun. So please bodoh them and yourselves on these.

Najib had fell for Mahathir’s bait when a year ago Mahathir told Najib and Bn that it would be to BN’s advantage to go to the poll at the end of the full term. Too many scandals had happened and were exposed since 6 months ago, shaking Umno and BN to the ground. The latest being the intrusion in Lahad Datu by Sulu’s terrorists. Sabahans were visibly angry with Mahathir for giving citizenships to Muslims from Southern Philippines arbtarily in the 1990s just to gain more votes for Umno.

"English will become compulsory" .Wow they make it sound almost as if they are doing the Rakyat a favor.

WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE TO BE ABLE TO SPEAK ENGLISH WELL YOU DUMBASS!

Hello~ said...

Nah, if he can revert back from English to BM, what makes you think he will honour his promise in 2016. I bet it will be another excuse saying the system is not ready

As for Ellese, I don't care what PR thinks at the moment, because the power and deciding party is in BN's hand. Why pointing at other irrelevant party. When PR coems into power, I am sure the people will ask the question by then but that is another issue
